Can the Google Fit app be linked to Fitbit?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Is there any way to connect my Fitbit Flex to the Google Fit app that just came out yesterday?  I just downloaded Google Fit yesterday just so I can try it out and it said that it would connect with 3rd party apps but cannot find a way to connect the Fitbit to it.

Any help anyone can give me on this would be greatly appreciated.

Ditto. I'm using Strava for bicycling because Fitbit is really geared toward walking. I synch Strava into Google Fit, and I would like to synch the Fitbit there as well so that I can view comprehensive totals from biking and walking in one place. The entire fitness wearables market needs to get comprehensive. Most people do more than one activity.

Feedback left. Hopefully Mountain View reads it.

To be honest, I'm not using Fitbit One anymore. The mails with analytics is
good, but it's only one thing of my daily exercise. Now that the clip broke
for the second time I decided to stop using it.

I sync Fitbit to Strava which adds data onwards into Google fit. Somewhere along the chain, HRM data is being ignored or not exported.

Im early adaptor of fitbit HR and love it but My upgrade to Fitbit HR may not be from Fitbit if data is not allowed to sync with Google Fit.

My Charge HR will only sync with Strava if I subscribe to Strava's paid service.

If Google would come along and develop a tracker that isn't also a watch, that might solve everyone's problems.  I'd love to see all of my data in one place, without the jumping through hoops.

It's not Google's fault. It's also a missconception that Google Fit is just an app, it's also a complete health framework that endpoints (like trackers) connect into. So essentially it's Fitbit's fault.

Under armour app can sync with fitbit and Google fit. Would this setup allow your data to sync between fitbit and Google fit?
Best Answer

Assuming you mean myfitnesspal for the "Under armour app", unfortunately not (I am using the free services so no idea for paid).

I have a Fitbit Charge HR, Strava, myfitnesspal and Google Fit. It looks like these apps will only export the data that they have created themselves; i.e. no second hand data is passed on, e.g. steps recorded by Fitbit will only be exported to the services Fitbit links to, myfitnesspal will not pass the steps on to Google Fit.

Same here.

Yes would absolutely love this! Definitely thinking about switching to a more open fitness tracker with my wife if Fitbit doesn't start opening up their device to more apps.

Thing is fitbit is not about it's app, but the fitness tracking device. No good moving to a "more open app" if it does not support the device.

After 2 years of too many fitbit users asking for this, it is obvious that fitbit does not care what their clients want.

I'm sending my fitbit to amazon for amazon credits.

I'm thinking about switching to another tracking provider too. Which of them cares about users? What firm/band/app do you find to be better?

The same is for me: I'll switch to a different device (not from fitbit).
This feature is so much needed but the brand doesn't seems to care about
it. Moreover they're not going to integrate with so many major apps......

What device did you choose to switch to?

I decided to just use my Android Wear devices, mostly the Casio WSD-F10, as
well as my Pebble Time round.
I have found that the Pebble even records actual sleep much more accurate
than the Fitbit Charge HR.
