Since Google runs Fitbit now, does Google Fit automatically sync with Fitbit? I just turned on Google Fit on my phone because I read in a comment that to get Map My Ride to roundabout sync with Fitbit was through Google Fit. I don't see anything on Fitbit about Google Fit. Is this true?

I don't think it syncs automatically. I was just reading an article about this on 9-to-5 Google the other day. Seems like a simple process using Health Connect:

I use FitToFit to sync Fitbit to google Fit, and I get my maps nicely, it also will show everything else from the Fitbit App in Google Fit. It can be set to auto sync. For Android you can get it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fitapp.fittofit

FitToFit is the app I also use to sync the two applications as one. Great app download it.

Thank you all for the information shared in this thread. Let me tell you how to connect Google Fit and Fitbit.

 

As mentioned before, this won't happen automatically, you need to use Health Connect as the means of connection between the apps. This can be done by following the instructions given in this link - " How do I share my Fitbit data with Health Connect on my Android phone?".

 

Once you finish the process in Health Connect, you will need to allow permissions for the apps with which you want to share information.
