Fitbit & HealthVault stopped syncing?

Looks like FitBit synced with Healthvault up til March 20th of this year.  But stopped syncing.  I disconnected fitbit and healthvault - but when I went to reconnect it - its no longer listed as a partner?  What happened? and how do we get that back?  I"ve been syncing everything for the past 3 or 4 years so I'd like to continue to sync with HealthVault.

Just received this email from Fitbit:

"Hello,

We’re reaching out because we noticed your Fitbit account is integrated with Microsoft HealthVault.

After careful consideration, we’ve decided to end our support of Microsoft HealthVault. As of September 12, Fitbit will no longer send data to HealthVault. You’ll still have access to your previously synced data through the Fitbit dashboard.

Rest assured we’re always looking for new ways to support your health and fitness goals, and we encourage you to visit fitbit.com/partnership for other integrations. Please let us know if you have any questions at contact.fitbit.com

I can confirm the above is true; we are in the process of ending support of the Microsoft HealthVault integration. All your historical data will still be accessible through HealthVault and the Fitbit dashboard. I highly recommend visiting our compatible apps page to explore alternate options that might help you with your health and fitness goals.

And Now FitBit is dead to me.

Used to do Blood Sugar as a Premium feature, then killed that.  Now killed Healthvault, after we all invested in a lot of your equipment,

All you get is an Oh Sorry.  It still works as a standalone.

FitBit is an inherently dishonest company.  Tech support is awful. if ever you can get it.

To be fair, even Microsoft doesn't really support Healthvault.  Trotted it out, and then let it die on the vine.

I am not going to buy ONE MORE thing from FitBit.  No assurances it will continue to be useful outside of their eco system.

And their rediculous emails as "support" is insulting.

After careful consideration, I’ve decided to end my support of Fitbit...

Heh, yep careful consideration also leads me to conclude I want nothing more to do a company that only innovates to reduce functionality or interoperability. I gave up on the Flex in favour of MS Band months ago. Syncing weight from Aria to Healthvault never worked properly anyway. It's a shame becaues there is a lot to like in the Aria, but I'm looking for a replacement now.

I too am done with Fitbit.. what was this carefull consideration they speak of?

For FitBit Moderators!!!!!!!!

I'm weary of the inherent deceit.  You snaked me into getting the Professional service by enticing description of Blood Sugar entry.  Ok, you didn't work with Glucose monitors, but I could deal with that,  And did.  But then you cancelled that feature.  No refund for the Professional service.  No nothing.  Just... careful consideration.

Healthvault will do that for me.  And even upload directly from my monitor.  My Bad for trusting you.

Then, you allowed us to sync with Healthvault.  And... in keeping with FitBit's inherent deceit.  "after careful consideration" you terminated that offering.  Ok, this one didn't cost us money this time.  But, more than a few used the service.  And Double OK, Microsoft hasn't really kept Healthvault running well.

But my doctor's office doesn't have WiFi, so taking my Surface 3, to the Doctor's to talk, weight, meals eaten.  Steps, let alone Blood Pressure and Glucose readings.  Or medication.  Now, is a complete mess.  All because of your "careful consideration".

You don't add universal features.  You only subtract.  So, yeah it's my health, and I don't expect any of you to really give a **ahem**.  But, so you can "carefully consider" your impacts.  I rarely get on the scale now.  It's just not as USEFUL as it once was.  I wear my Blaze and my Alta.  But, now more out of habit.  (I'm a diehard watch wearer).  I don't really seem to care what they record.  Because I no longer associate FitBit with Fitness or data.  I just consider you another company, worried solely about making new devices and sales.  I know you're in business to make sales and profits.  But it makes me feel like you were faking it before.  Or just outright lying to your consumers.

I no longer wish to invest financially or emotionally in your ecosystem, because I don't feel confident you won't start terminatiing other features, I used to rely on.  So.. I've stopped relying on you.

I'm now looking at Apple HealthKit.  I'm sure you'll say, "Hey, we work with that platform too."  But, so do a lot of other products.  And while I haven't used them, like your products.  I haven't learned to not trust them, like I don't trust you.

If I'm doing the math right, we have purchased 3 Zips, 2 Flexes, 2 Altas, Charge HR, Blaze and Alta. Clearly loyal customers. Former customers. I doubt we'll fall for more Fitbit marketing for this or that new feature to drive sales for yet more devices in the future.

So when loyal users stop caring, I'd say the company has lost its way. Sad.

After careful consideration, me too. Sending collected data to Healthvault is very convenient. Healthvault is the data aggregator, not FitBit. That probably makes FitBit unhappy, being a lowly sensor data provider.

My company has outfitted employees with FitBits. Going forward, we will switch. Probably to the Band--seems to have more functionality and I doubt Microsoft will decide to cut off its own (data) nose.

An unhappy customer....

After follow old documents I was totally suprised to find that you guys dropped this support. Just to let you know this decision will effect my decision on what I get when I upgrade my flex. I just recently started using my flex again and was very disappointed when I found this thread.

I recently switched from Microsoft Band 2 to Fitbit Charge 2.  I did so because the Band 2 has a reliability issue.  Now I'm finding the Fitbit company has a reliability issue.  Microsoft Healthvault has one of the best health aggregation systems available.  Apparently the work to do the integration was complete.  What did it cost you to continue the support?  I can already see what it is costing you in customer satisfaction.  I would LOVE to hear the rationale?  Weaning us away so that you can develop your own health information aggregator?  Some beef with Microsoft?  Information gateway cost too high?

I have found a reasonable workaround for FitBit not supporting Microsoft Health Vault.  You can use a third party program, Fitness Syncer to bring all of your information together.  It has quite a few devices listed that it can aggrigate, including my Withings scale.

I’m going to give it a try. But only seems useful at the pro level, at least for crab tracking and glucose. All things Fitbit did, but no more. I’ve frankly stopped loading food, as the details on my phone or tablet are useless to me. Need micronutrients, which are on Fitbit web, just NOT on windows apps. Hate using the web interface.

Thanks for the information

Equally disapppointed with the decision to end HEalthVault integration. It coincides with the decline if actual support from FitBit overall. Having purchased many FitBit devices since 2009 for my family, we are considering other options. Samsung Gear is looking better and better. Hell, even Apple watch is more appealing than FitBit at this point, and I just ditched my iPhone for a Samsung.
