Update 2/17/16 4:21pm PST

Hey all, here's the latest update from MFP:

"We released a fix for this Wednesday, 2/10. This should return the calorie count to being stable and updating only when necessary (exercise is logged/completed, etc). If you are still having trouble with your TDEE not staying consistent, will you let us know? You can reach us here: https://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/emails/new "

Update from MFP!

"Some members have reported that unselecting, and reselecting Fitbit as their primary step source has helped bring their TDEE back in line with what should be reported.

We made some changes yesterday that we are hoping will smooth out the fluctuations being seen in member's TDEE. If you are still having trouble with your TDEE not staying consistent, will you let us know? You can reach us here: https://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/emails/new"

Update: 2/10/16

Hey everyone,

I noticed there's been some posts about MFP's energy expenditure calculation being incorrect. It appears this has already been reported to MFP, and they posted an update on 2/5/16 that they're looking into it. You can find updates from them by clicking here. I'll update this thread when I have more information.

Thanks! Smiley Happy

For the past few days, My Fitness Pal was not getting the correct calorie expenditure from Fitbit but Fitbit was getting calorie information correctly from MFP.

Today, Fitbit is double counting a meal from MFP. I have the most recent version of both.

@Musical-1 Have you checked out our MFP post about correcting calorie discrepancy? That might help. Smiley Happy

I don't think it's a discrepancy issue. Saturday and Sunday and yesterday the Fitbit calorie adjustment showed up twice. Today it only shows once, but did not change at all after I went from 4,000 steps early in the day to 11,000 now. (Only 120)

Looking back there are many times when MFP shows multiple calorie adjustments from mid January on.

But today I got the snack summary twice in Fitbit.

It is definately wonky this afternoon.  I'm guessing they are having backend issues again. Hopefully it will sync up later if it is a backlog problem.

The remaining calories for me to eat vary greatly from each other. I understand that FitBit accounts for steps and calories burned automatically, but the number showing up there is way less than MFP. Which is weird to me because I feel like it should be more since it's accounting for working out. I have the goals the same on both as well - which is to lose 1 lb a week. I'm also not double logging my workouts and only logging them on Fitbit. I only use MFP to log my food. Even when I don't exercise, the numbers are still very different.

Still a problem. Today's data seems OK, but Sunday through yesterday are still off. I've tried unlinking and relinking my Fitbit to my MFP account.
