Fitbit Update 11/03/15 02:13 PM: Everyone -- The Strava and Fitbit integration issues have been resolved. I am closing this thread from further discussion for organizational purposes.

If you're still experiencing issues, I recommend revoking access to the integration and reconnecting by following the steps outlined here.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to report this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved in a timely manner! Now it's time to get out and ride! Robot Very Happy

Fitbit Update 10/21/2015 3:54 PM:If you're continuing to experience syncing issues between Fitbit and Strava, please check out Strava's response and follow these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Have you tried reconnecting your accounts, syncing your Fitbit tracker, and waiting an hour?
  2. Have you confirmed that you are not recording a duplicate exercise in the Strava app and Fitbit app/device simultaneously?
  3. Have you confirmed that you are recording a GPS exercise with your Fitbit? (Only exercises with GPS on Fitbit will be sent to Strava).
  4. Have you confirmed that you recorded a new exercise after connecting you accounts? (Previous exercises won’t be uploaded. You can use the TCX export from Fitbit to upload older exercises manually).

If you've made sure of all of the above and your activities are still not syncing between Fitbit and Strava, please fill out this form to send your Strava athlete ID to us so Fitbit can continue to investigate.

Fitbit Update 10/19/2015 3:18 PM: I've been in contact with our API Team and they are still looking into the issues everyone here has reported! I appreciate all the feedback!

I apologize for the delay in getting this issue resolved but can confirm that we are actively working on getting everyone back on track! Thank you for your continued patience! Robot Happy

Fitbit Update 10/16/2015 3:59 PM: Please check out what syncs between Fitbit and Strava and some troubleshooting tips that should help get you back on track:

What is synced to Strava from Fitbit:

  • Exercises with GPS data recorded with Fitbit will be sent to Strava (Heart rate data will be included when it's available).
  • Exercises recorded with Fitbit's app or devices that do not include GPS data are NOT currently sent to Strava

What is synced to Fitbit from Strava:

    • Exercises recorded in Strava will be synced to Fitbit as manually logged activities, but will NOT include GPS or heart rate data from Strava

If you are still unable to sync your data between Fitbit and Strava or vice versa, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Log in to your Fitbit dashboard
  2. Click the gear icon on the top right corner
  3. Click "Settings"
  4. Click "Applications" on the left side
  5. Click "Revoke Access" under the "Fitbit + Strava" app
  6. Go to https://strava.fitbit.com/ and click "Connect" and follow the rest of the prompts to finish reconnecting your Fitbit and Strava accounts

Fitbit Update 10/16/2015: Hey all, we're continuing to monitor this issue! It doesn't seem as it is resolved for all users yet, some have reported that after a delay it work but it shouldn't take forever. Rest assured that the API team is still working on it! You can expect an update from me early next week, hopefully with some good news.

Fitbit Update 10/14/2015: Hey everyone -- our team has been looking into the issue with syncing your Strava data over to Fitbit. To pass along information to the engineers working on this issue, are you still experiencing issues with syncing and connecting Strava to your Fitbit account? If so, please try to unlink Strava with your Fitbit and relink it again before replying. Looking forward to your responses! Thank you!

Fitbit Update 10/06/2015: We've received reports that users are unable to set up or sync between their Fitbit and Strava accounts. I have forwarded your information to our Product Specialist Team who is currently looking into this issue. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve the issue ASAP.

Still not working after revoking access and setting up again.

It was working pretty slowly... usually when connecting to WiFi at home after multiple bike rides and syncing over 3G.

Now it hasn't sent data to fitbit for over a week..... getting pretty annoyed

Still not working after revoking access and setting up again.

It was working pretty slowly... usually at the end of the day when connecting to WiFi at home (after multiple bike rides and syncing over 3G with no luck) or it would be the day after a couple of rides would get sent together. However it seems to be getting worse: it hasn't sent data to fitbit for over a week..... getting pretty annoyed!

Wanted to report that I've am 2 for 2 on Strava activities successfully linking to my fitbit account since Tuesday. Keeping fingers crossed it holds up, doesn't seem like everyone has resolution yet.

Note none of my activities that are missing from the prior 2.5 to 3 weeks caught back up but not a huge deal. I will manually add.

@LexIcon76It is expected that old data will not catch up and sync over.

@Stu_PGreat to see you around the Community! Happy to have you participating in the discussions!

@Stu_P@MikeBikelerExercises recorded in Strava will be synced to Fitbit as manually logged activities, but will NOT include GPS or heart rate data from Strava, if you'd like to see heart rate or GPS on Fitbit, I recommend using the Fitbit MobileRun feature with a heart rate capable tracker such as the Charge HR or Surge.

Data syncing should take no more than an hour max. Generally, syncing is completed within minutes.

Prior recorded Strava information will not come over, just information that you've recorded since you've set up the integration.

@JonR43What some users have done to get around this is to also record the activity with their Fitbit App and Charge HR tracker (which tracks heart rate) and manually downloaded the TCX file (which contains GPS and heart rate data) from their activity and uploaded it into Strava.

@neilkavThank you for your efforts in troubleshooting! Our team is still working on getting the delay with syncing resolved. I apologize for the delay in getting this fixed but we are continuing to work on it. Thank you for your continued patience!

@sjones1360Happy to know that you're 2 for 2! It is expected that old data will not catch up and sync over. Keep me posted on if the activities continue to sync over successfully. Thank you for the feedback! Robot Very Happy

I recorded a GPS activity with my Fitbit today, and it synced to Strava immediately, as soon as I synced my Fitbit. Hooray!! I'll have to try a few more times to see if it keeps working, but this and other peoples' stories are makinig me really hopeful!

I have also found that runs tracked on Fitbit have synced across to Strava in minutes, just how it used to be. Fingers crossed.
