Fitbit Update 11/03/15 02:13 PM: Everyone -- The Strava and Fitbit integration issues have been resolved. I am closing this thread from further discussion for organizational purposes.

If you're still experiencing issues, I recommend revoking access to the integration and reconnecting by following the steps outlined here.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to report this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved in a timely manner! Now it's time to get out and ride! Robot Very Happy

Fitbit Update 10/21/2015 3:54 PM:If you're continuing to experience syncing issues between Fitbit and Strava, please check out Strava's response and follow these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Have you tried reconnecting your accounts, syncing your Fitbit tracker, and waiting an hour?
  2. Have you confirmed that you are not recording a duplicate exercise in the Strava app and Fitbit app/device simultaneously?
  3. Have you confirmed that you are recording a GPS exercise with your Fitbit? (Only exercises with GPS on Fitbit will be sent to Strava).
  4. Have you confirmed that you recorded a new exercise after connecting you accounts? (Previous exercises won’t be uploaded. You can use the TCX export from Fitbit to upload older exercises manually).

If you've made sure of all of the above and your activities are still not syncing between Fitbit and Strava, please fill out this form to send your Strava athlete ID to us so Fitbit can continue to investigate.

Fitbit Update 10/19/2015 3:18 PM: I've been in contact with our API Team and they are still looking into the issues everyone here has reported! I appreciate all the feedback!

I apologize for the delay in getting this issue resolved but can confirm that we are actively working on getting everyone back on track! Thank you for your continued patience! Robot Happy

Fitbit Update 10/16/2015 3:59 PM: Please check out what syncs between Fitbit and Strava and some troubleshooting tips that should help get you back on track:

What is synced to Strava from Fitbit:

  • Exercises with GPS data recorded with Fitbit will be sent to Strava (Heart rate data will be included when it's available).
  • Exercises recorded with Fitbit's app or devices that do not include GPS data are NOT currently sent to Strava

What is synced to Fitbit from Strava:

    • Exercises recorded in Strava will be synced to Fitbit as manually logged activities, but will NOT include GPS or heart rate data from Strava

If you are still unable to sync your data between Fitbit and Strava or vice versa, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Log in to your Fitbit dashboard
  2. Click the gear icon on the top right corner
  3. Click "Settings"
  4. Click "Applications" on the left side
  5. Click "Revoke Access" under the "Fitbit + Strava" app
  6. Go to https://strava.fitbit.com/ and click "Connect" and follow the rest of the prompts to finish reconnecting your Fitbit and Strava accounts

Fitbit Update 10/16/2015: Hey all, we're continuing to monitor this issue! It doesn't seem as it is resolved for all users yet, some have reported that after a delay it work but it shouldn't take forever. Rest assured that the API team is still working on it! You can expect an update from me early next week, hopefully with some good news.

Fitbit Update 10/14/2015: Hey everyone -- our team has been looking into the issue with syncing your Strava data over to Fitbit. To pass along information to the engineers working on this issue, are you still experiencing issues with syncing and connecting Strava to your Fitbit account? If so, please try to unlink Strava with your Fitbit and relink it again before replying. Looking forward to your responses! Thank you!

Fitbit Update 10/06/2015: We've received reports that users are unable to set up or sync between their Fitbit and Strava accounts. I have forwarded your information to our Product Specialist Team who is currently looking into this issue. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve the issue ASAP.

Yes, it isn't resolved for me yet. I had re-linked yesterday morning and my ride from today (uploaded over 4 hours ago) still hasn't synced.

Anything else I should be doing?

I first noticed my Strava runs were not syncing 10/06/2015.  I did a treadmill run with my One logging the activity 10/15/2015.  This and none of any other Fitbit only activites never have synced to Strava.  I didn't expect it too either.  However if I had the Surge, I would want/expect the sync to Strava.

A new run without my One, Strava logged only, today 10/16/2015 did not once again sync to my account.  I have revoked both ends twice! Leaving it linked... time will tell I guess.  😕

I've tried revoking strava access and reconnecting, but this still appears to be an issue and Fitbit data from my surge does not sync to Strava. It's been 10 days now, has there been any headway made in resolving this issue? This feature is one of the primary reasons I went for a Fitbit in the first place.

Thanks

I had two runs today and both synced from Fitbit to Strava within 10 minutes (may have been less, I didn't check immediately). Looks like things are starting to work normally again.

Hopefully....

I'm still yet to see data from my Fitbit surge pushed to Strava. It's been 7 hours so far.

Use to be immediate. Pretty poor to be honest.

@worzieTreadmill runs do not include GPS so they would not sync over to Strava from Fitbit.

@mikefbullIf the exercise from your Surge tracks GPS data, it should sync over to Strava. Currently, we are not seeing any issues with the integration on our end.

@stegGreat news! Thank you for the update as it makes me happy to hear that you're back on track! Robot Very Happy

@ErickFitbit sorry, but are you saying the Strava syncing problem is fixed? because this is not working for me... I've logged multiple strava rides (with GPS) but nothing is showing up in my FitBit dashboard.

i did already try unlinking and re-linking. unless i'm supposed to spin in a circle 3 times and hop on one foot too or something... 🙂

Best Answer

@KnickTo clarify, exercises recorded in Strava will be synced to Fitbit as manually logged activities, but will not include GPS or heart rate data from Strava. If you go to your online Dashboard, do you see manually logged activities that coincide with your Strava recorded rides? If not, I recommend taking screenshots of the Strava ride and also the online Dashboard for Fitbit so we can confirm if the data is missing.

Still borked for me, unfortunately. 😞 I've un-linked and re-linked repeatedly. Maybe I'll try one more time, signing out of both accounts...

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks!

Edit: Why don't these images work here?

Uploaded them here as well.

I have not had a fitbit Bike update since Oct 3 yet I have had many Strava Bike events since then.  See below for both Strava and Fitbit Desktops which indicates they are not in sync.  I have dropped and re-established the connection between fitbit and strava. Note the original data is gathered by a windows phone application called Cyclers and loaded into Strava.  There is no problem with the information being displayed in Strava.

Here are mine:

Fitbit activity history - you can see that activities are syncing from FitBolt; the runs from October 1, 3, and 4 are the last three activities to make it over from Strava.

@ErickFitbit here are some screenshots. Wasn't sure exactly what you wanted, so posted both the dashboard for the 15th and 16th, and the activity log. Also the training log from Strava.

no dice, nothing is coming over.

the "activity history" shows steps logged during the time i had Strava running. i keep the Flex on while i'm biking. As you can see though no manual entries showing up. Or am i looking in the wrong place?

@ErickFitbit why does it take so long to sync the data to Straca now? It's taken almost 24 hours when it used to be immediate? There still seems to be issues with this feature in my opinion.

It's still taking 24 hours for my runs tracked on Fitbit surge to appear on my Strava account. I've tried reconnecting etc. Any suggestions?
