Sync Samsung Watch data to Fitbit

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi I have been bought the latest Samsung galaxy watch for my birthday, I have always used fit bit, so I want to continue. Just wondering if anyone can shed light on which apps sync well to give shared steps, runs, walks, heart rate and sleep data to fitbit from my watch.

Welcome to the Forums @Jamief89.

Congratulations on your watch.

At this time it is not possible to connect Samsung Health or Google Fit directly with Fitbit. There are some third party apps that do helping those connect with Fitbit but I do not know their names nor can I vouch for their effectiveness and safety of them.

Let me know if there are any further questions.

i gave up on Fitbit. The key things I did not like about it were interestingly enough, all concerns fitbit really wasn't interested in improving. I had two fitbits that died within a month of each other about a year ago. I looked into purchasing a new one, but I also didn't really want to have to wear two watches/fitness bands when I work out. I wear my garmin for running etc, and since fitbit doesn't easily sync with it, I would have to wear both. Decided that didn't interest me. My garmin is aging and has been in need of replacement for a while. I've been looking at some, had a few I liked, but still, fitbit didn't sync the things I wanted it to sync with garmin. then just this week when I upgraded my phone, I was given the option to purchase a samsung galaxy watch at half price. I did, since I'd been debating a new garmin and with the sale, samsung was cheaper and all the key items i want to track do in fact sync to strava, which in turn syncs to garmin connect. i've only had it a few days and haven't run since I got it. I came in to the fit bit forums and i am not surprised at all to see that fitbit has publicly stated they have no plans to make their devices compatible with the galaxy. So yeah, i now have even less interest in getting a new fitbit, as in no interest. And with all the changes and upgrades galaxy is incorporating, I will know pretty soon if I even want to get another garmin. the is so much competition in the smart watch arena nowadays and fitbit just doesn't seem interested in staying competitive or growing their users.

Agreed, I am about to give up on Fitbit too.  Just bought myself the Galaxy Active watch and did not even consider Versa (no GPS) or Ionic (just too clunky looking).  But Fitbit have the best app and don't seem interesting in trying to keep their (previously) loyal fan-base!!  Oh well, they'll soon be going the way of Yahoo, Palm Pilots and iPods I guess.

I wont mind paying for a fitbit watch app on my Samsung gear s3 if it were to count my steps with the watch and I could participate in challenges (specially solos, which I prefer compared to together in s health). Guess i will keep the app to track my feminine health, as I cant with s health.

its a shame because Fitbit foolishly sees itself as hardware company when they should see themselves as a software company...sorry their trackers arent the best anymore, there are so many competitors making better watches/trackers...but I do think their software platform is better. Would be nice to use my Galaxy watch with the fitbit app, seems stupid that you cant.

My 2nd fitbit blaze refuses to charge after a year of usage and now decided to go for something that last more than a year. I used to love fitbit and after the recent experience, I don't think I will ever buy one.

I liked the Samsung galaxy watch and I'm trying to sync the data to fitbit app via 3rd party apps. It looks like a watch, has GPS that both Versa and Ionic does not have.

Did you find any app that allows you to sync data to the fitbit app? The only thing I miss is the weekly challenges I have on the fitbit app.

Thank you

Fit and Healthy

Health Sync

It imports data from s health to fitbit and the steps are translated as activities. So you will have 24 hrs long activities with the step impact. It would be ok if you could participate in challenges but it does not count steps in there.

I've  just tried Health Sync app. to sync the activity of today from Galaxy Watch to Fitbit app. The result is partially satisfactory. It imports correctly the total of the steps, but it doesn't show the activity, specially the gps map. Besides ,as the sleep resume, it just import the numer of hours of sleep, but not the details, and graphics. Don't know if this is matter of permission on samsung whatch.....

I recently bought a Samsung Active 2 (so far I love it) due to my Fitbit charge 3 being so dim that you could not see anything unless you were in a dark place. Even then it was hard to see and Fitbit does not seem to be in a hurry to fix this problem since they have been aware of it for at least a year.  I have tried the Health Sync app but it will not sync with Challenges on Fitbit. This is also a paid app, price is not bad but since it can not sync with Challenges I see no reason to buy.

I'm feeling very disappointed in fitbit at the moment, I upgraded my phone a month ago to the Samsung Galaxy A40 as my S6 only to discover that I couldn't sync my charge 2 with my phone no matter what I tried then the charge 2 stopped syncing with my daughters iphone 6 and was just a couple of weeks out of warranty so I decided to look around for a new fitness tracker altho fitbit was at the bottom of my list because the dismissiveness about my syncing issues and then their complete disregard about the warranty being just out really put me off but I did like the app. I looked at all the fitness tracker smart watches in my price range and really liked the Samsung Galaxy Active watch over the others so got that a couple of days ago and fitbit stumped me again with not supporting any other hardware than their own which is a shame

I have been loyal to Fitbit for five and a half years, and "was" going to purchase the Versa2....WELL, with google taking over fitbit, that was no longer an option. After a month ish of researching, I decided on the Samsung Active 2. Currently, I am wearing both because I am in 3 competitions, and do not wish to dump my few friends on here. Once the competitions ar complete, I am GONE. Google already knows just about everything about me, they don't need to know my height, weight, and my heartrate as well. I am sadly opting to delete all of my hard earned data with Fitbit.

I love Fitbit and Samsung. I wish they could work together to have the best smart watch. I currently have a Samsung active 2 but I miss the Fitbit app.

My bestfriend just called me from her Samsung watch.  I'm  jealous.  I want send texts and calls from my watch.  I also would  love to stay in challenges with my other friends.  I'm  considering  switching  to a Samsung watch as my Versa sometimes  have issues!

Agree with the others on thread, would like to see ability to sync Galaxy watch and Fitbit or will need to dump fitbit.

Were you able to remove or unlinked your Fitbit tracker and keep using the Samsung Galaxy to track steps through Health Sync? I just downloaded the app and when I removed the Fitbit tracker it only shows calories burned and not my steps.

I did unlink the fitbit device after losing the second fitbit. I can't directly connect samsung watch on the fitbit app. I did manage to use a third-party app to sync info from Samsung health to Fitbit. Steps are not shown in a steps tile. Steps from Samsung health is instead shown as a 24hrs activity in fitbit, and when you click on that activity, it shows on the impact section how many steps that activity is. And you can't use these information in any challenges.
