My device no longer locks when taking it off my wrist. My fear is if my Fitbit gets lost someone can take it and do a factory reset. My Versa 2 locked with no problem. I feel like there is minimal protection with this watch. If there is a fix please let me know.

Best AnswerI've had this issue from day 1 of getting my versa 4. It won't device lock it automatically sets it to fitbit pay lock and I haven't even set up a card to do so.
I've contacted fit bit over a week ago and still they can't help me. Just keep saying we need more time to figure it out.
Pretty lame excuse.
It's up to you to set the device lock.
Read about it and how to set it here:
How do I use the device lock on my Fitbit device?

Thank you for paying attention to what I said. Someone sent the same exact article. The device lock only works for Fitbit pay on Versa 4 and that’s not what I’m talking about! I need it to lock every time my watch leave my wrist for security reasons 😪

i don’t think you understood my issue. I know how to set device lock. On Versa 4 it only works for Fitbit pay which means if I happen to leave my watch somewhere accidentally anyone can go into it and reset it to factory settings and boom now it’s no longer my watch. My old versa 2 locked automatically every time the device came off my wrist. This saved me from having my watch stolen.
fitbit needs to fix this asap as they are putting our devices at risk. I don’t have 300 to throw away. 🤔
Is this happening on all versa 4 watches? This is such a key feature.
I've just spoken to fitbit again and they say it could be a feature they are going to release. In my opinion it should be standard.
Looks like device lock prevents only from accessing Fitbit/Google Pay rather than whole device. It's like that on Sense 2. Basically, there is no system-wide device lock on those devices.
Best Answer@t.parker when setting up the device lock, it defaults to locking the whole device.
At this time, we have the choice to choose Lock Fitbit Pay only. Once this option has been chosen, you can't unchoise it without remiveing cards, disabling the lock and then setting things up
@Talesha386 having a pin lock will not stop someone from doing a factory reset. There is a hardware based reset option availible.
Best AnswerI just got my Versa 4 today and also extremely shocked to find out the screen doesn’t lock like my Versa 2 did. Unless Fitbit can come up with a fix for this I may also return mine!
Hi @Sulli100 are you referring to needing a pin code? Have you setup fitbit or Google pay?
In the fitbit app - tap the profile picture - tap the Versa 4 - Tap device lock ( the last item)
Is it set for Wallet Only?
