I have had it confirmed by a customer service agent (who must get this question on the daily) that you cannot download additional apps on the versa 4. You can only download Fitbit approved apps -which I don’t see listed anywhere. What a disappointment. I chose Fitbit over apple believing this would be a capability of the watch as it has been in previous versions. To not bring this feature forward and not highlight it seems absolutely fraudulent to me. Fitbit have lost my trust and me as a future customer. Such poor strategy for a business when all you have in comparison to Apple Watch is customer loyalty.

Having both an Apple Watch and Fitbit Versa 4 I prefer the Fitbit, but it depends on your needs. I am focused on fitness and health and not having a mini iPhone on my wrist. The Fitbit is lighter, more comfortable to wear. Has a week long battery life compared to Apple which has a single day. Fitbit sleep tracking is superior. Fitbit provides water and food logging (and yes you can even scan bar codes). Fitbit provides scoring (with premium) for stress, readiness, and sleep. Fitbit provides a beautiful web based dashboard - nothing like this exists in AW. Fitbit provides stunning report features you can provide to your doctor - again with premium. I actually feel the menu and navigation is more intuitive with Fitbit, with AW you have the crown, the side button to go back and forth between the control panel, and apps which is a mess. People complain about $9.99 for Fitbit premium, but if you want all those features with Apple Watch be prepared as I was paying in app subscriptions totaling $24.99 a month including Apple Fitness+. Keep in mind most Apple Watch apps only provide complications sans music.
