Seeking Help with Fitbit Versa 4 Sleep Tracking Issue

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I recently purchased a Fitbit Versa 4 and have been enjoying using it for various health and fitness tracking purposes. It appears that my Fitbit Versa 4 is not accurately tracking my sleep data. I wear it consistently when I sleep, but the data it provides seems to be inaccurate or incomplete. It's not capturing my sleep patterns and durations correctly.Has anyone else experienced this issue with their Fitbit Versa 4 or any other Fitbit device? If so, how did you go about addressing it? Are there any settings or troubleshooting steps I might be missing?

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Anna_Grace13!

Sad to hear that you're having issues tracking your sleep with your Versa 4. Setting up a sleep goal and a sleep schedule will very likely improve accuracy of sleep tracking with your device.
To see how to do that and for more insights how to track sleeping please have a closer look here:

I had the same issue and now my versa 4 wont track my sleep at all. I got told to manually input my sleep pattern but it doesn’t give you an accurate sleep pattern and I pay for premium to see that! The reason why I got a Fitbit is because I want to track my sleep automatically which my versa 2 did fine however I changed to the versa 4 nearly a week ago and I’ve had nothing but issues with it. It’s incredibly frustrating and Fitbit help have been anything but helpful with this issue

Welcome to the forums @Anna_Grace13 @Lucyxx41

Thanks for sharing the inquiry regarding sleep.

In addition to the helpful information provided kindly by @Talahthas, I'd add the following:

When your body is completely at rest and you haven’t moved for about an hour, your device should record that you’re asleepBefore considering other options, please keep in mind that there are some factors that may prevent your tracker from recording your sleep. Please make sure of the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device as described in this help article.
  • If you slept for less than 1 hour for sleep patterns or less than 3 hours for sleep stages.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

If you haven't done so already, please follow the steps listed here below:

  1. Complete a restart procedure following the steps suggested in this article
  2. Try adjusting the sleep sensitivity on the Fitbit app and check if you continue to have the same problem.

In addition, please wear your device on your non-dominant hand and monitor it for the next few days.

When I am ready for sleep I scroll the screen down once and select the moon icon which apparently activates the sleep mode.  In the morning I turn it off then.  Works for me.

I am having the same problems.    It is frustrating because I have not changed any habits or anything else that would affect the tracker.    I never had as many issues as I have with the Versa 4.  Very disappointing

Are you syncing your Versa 4 to your phone everyday? I daily open my Fitbit app on my phone to sync it with my Versa 4. It usually takes several sync attempts before my phone shows my daily Sleep Score from my Versa 4.
