After multiple calls to tech support to resolve this issue and others, I am told by more than one representative that all the issues will be resolved with the current/upcoming update. However, I was also told that the update is not quite ready for all devices and that I can expect the red banner to appear again in a week or so. I have been assured that after the update this issue as well as the other issues will all be resolved. That is the expectation that I have as a new user of a brand new Versa 4.
----------
Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. The last tech support rep that I spoke with seem to be reading directly from a script and I actually had to explain to him how the device worked and what it was intended to do. I was disappointed but not surprised. I got the same treatment with my new Pixel phone.
----------
Like you, I was very surprised to find that Google Assistant is not included as a feature with the Versa 4. But Amazon Alexa is??? Wow! That is a brain strain to try to figure out.
----------
I hope that is not the case. Unless I read it wrong, the Google Pixel watch that I looked at didn't have all of the features that my Versa 4 has, as far as workouts and health and wellness tracking. It appears that whatever choice I make, some important feature will be excluded from the device. Kind of hard for a regular guy like me to figure out. What Google is trying to do?

Any updates for this problem. Voice response not working for text messages on versa 4?

This just started last week. When attempting to voice reply to text message, it says, "Transcription Error: Oops, something is wrong. Please retry."
I have restarted both Versa 4 and Phone Pixel 6 Pro: no resolution
Fitbit is running in the background.

Unfortunately I have bad news. I just now got off the phone, after multiple attempts over the last month to have this and other issues resolved including getting the new update. A supervisor told me at Fitbit help and support that she understands that they have not been able to help me, they cannot help me today and that they are not sure when they will be able to help me, if ever. She further mentioned that she would report my issue and at this point that was the only option that was available to me. Done, finished, over, goodbye....I am a patient man, particularly when it comes to issues like software and tech devices. However, this kind of non-performance by such a large company is absolutely unacceptable on every single level. If this were a minor flaw like something similar to the dark mode issue, I could completely overlook it. But this is about functionality. This is about purchasing a device that will not operate as it was advertised. To say that I cannot be more disappointed than I am is an understatement and I am totally and completely at a loss at this point. Google has got to do better. These devices are not free and the time that we spend trying to find a suitable resolution is wasted moments from all our lives. The only worse purchase I have ever made was the Google Pixel phone. I should have learned my lesson then.

Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate the good information. Not quite sure how to switch from Google account to Fitbit account, but I'm sure I can find the info on this form somewhere. Very good words and thanks again 👍🏻

It's not possible to use Fitbit with your Android phone without a Google account. That comes straight from Fitbit support. I have spent more time on the phone with Fitbit support than I have for any other tech gadget I have ever purchased in my entire life. This is easily the biggest tech fiasco I have ever been involved in and I am just about done with Fitbit and Google. There is no excuse for this kind of problem and Google really and truly just does not seem to care.

This is not an acceptable answer. It certainly is not the best answer... In fact, it is not an answer at all. These devices are not free and as a paying consumer I expect far better from a company like Google and Fitbit, and I don't think I am being unreasonable to do so .So when I say that this is not an acceptable answer, what I really mean is that this is just an excuse... An excuse for total and complete incompetence and a complete and total lack of responsiveness and respect for paying customers. At the end of the day either you are prepared to be in business or you are not. Clearly Google and Fitbit are not.
