My versa 4 bought in feb 2023 is getting overheated while charging & hence charging stops ..Is this product supposed to last just 14 months ..My charge 2 first purchase in 2017 was working all good till 2023 so I again bought Fitbit but disappointed with it now ! Is battery replacement possible or I have to just throw the watch in 14 months?

Hi @sanjaykulkarni - if the watch is under warranty it can be replaced. This is often a symptom of water damage in the watch. Leaving it dry for a week or so it may work badly or not at all otherwise.

But if it ever gets hot while charging stop immediately.

Thanks for reply , It’s just 14 months old but yes out of warranty .. I have not used it anywhere closer to water .. It was fine until the morning the day I decided to charge it as the battery was low after 4 days use & then it started getting overheated and message popped up that charging is stopped as Fitbit has heated above operating temp .. So I allowed it to cool and tried charging after few hours but same problem .. Could it be a charger issue should I try with new charger?

It happened with my previous one. I would still reach out to Ftibit see if there is anything...

@sanjaykulkarni - it's not unheard of that charging cables are faulty but try cleaning both parts first with rubbing alcohol and if you have any battery left restart the watch.

A warning message may just be that. Check if it physically gets hot, and if so stop as that means it is most likely damaged inside and dangerous, a message may be a different situation.

If you don't get the message immediately you may be able to charge it in short bursts enough to do a factory reset (don't do it if the battery is low).

Depending on how long it takes for the message to appear and the state of the watch, if it still working off charge, the processes will vary.

You can always chat via the Fitbit App, Help & support section, Contact Customer support to get specific guidance.
