I just converted from Fitbit Luxe to Versa 4. Heart rate tracking is poor. E.g., today it took about 15 minutes into my cardio zone workout before my instantaneous HR measurements settled down, and became consistent with my HR expectations. , Prior to settling down, they were all over the place, jumping around randomly within about a 60 BPM window.
I never had this with my Luxe.
When resting, it takes 2-3 minutes sitting perfectly still for a stable measurement to settle in.
What is going on?

Welcome to the community, it is nice to see you around, @Mikey314.
Thanks for letting me know about this situation in regards to the heart rate tracking using your Versa 4.
I recommend you to check 'What factors can affect heart rate?', since there are certain things that can impact this. Also, restart your Versa 4 and double check you're wearing it correctly.
Let me know how it goes once you've done this, please.

Hello, @Mikey314, thanks for replying back and for sharing your experience with your Luxe.
Did you try the steps I mentioned? Let me know how it goes once you've done them.

Thanks Cris-I don't have A'Fib. I am wearing my Versa correctly. I did
re-start the watch and will see how it goes when I do my heavy workout
later today. Thanks for the suggestions.

Well, I tried again during my workout. Between six to eight minutes into my Cardio zone, HR readings went highly eratic, bouncing way up then down. Then, stabilized at what looked correct values for 2 minutes. Then, ten-twelve minutes, high volatility again, then stable for rest of Cardio zone. Entered Aneorobic zone at 20 minutes in and began 20 minutes of 2 minute HIIT cycles. Unstable HR during eight to nine minutes and again eleven to twelve minutes, then stabilized for remaining 20 minutes Aneorobic and during final 10 minute Cardio warmdown. Very frustrating product performance. Instantaneous HR measures are the most important thing I expect out of the watch. The rest of the features are niceties but not critical. I will restart watch again and try in 2 days during my next workout. If it continues, will probably request a refund and look for another watch.

Well, I tried again today during my workout. Heart Rate reading was highly volatile for 17 minutes before stabalizing. I give up on Versa for my workouts. I am returning my Versa, and going back to my Luxe while I pursue a FitBit alternative.
