I just got the Fitbit Versa and it does not sync with my Samsung Galaxy S9. Is there something that I am missing or is it not compatible with this phone? If it is not compatible are they working on making it compatible?

Where you able to setup the versa through the S9 .I ask this because the tracker needs to be setup to your fit it account, before it will sync and part of the setup process is a sync of the tracker.
I only know four Fitbit users that have this phone and none have any problems.

my phone shows that it is synced with the fitbit through the app. Am I doing something wrong

it states that it is synced with my phone and the Bluetooth is on but I am not receiving any notifications on my fitbit. Did I do something wrong?

Oh my. this is getting confusing. Your non sync issue is a notification issue.
Do you have the phone setup so that notifications are showing up on its AOD. (Always on Display)?
Have you checked the versa to see if notifications are turned on? Hold in the left button then swipe left if needed. This depends on which model versa.
Fitbit does have a guide to what settings on the phone and Fitbit app that needs to be checked .
