I would like to send the pulse-rate data from my fitbit Blaze to a microcontroller. I assume an operating system is required (iOS or Android), but I was wondering if there is any way to make it work without the OS (i.e. stream the data to a bluetooth transceiver in a control box with an Arduino 101 with BLE module). This is for a school project.
To be specific, we are trying to poll pulse-rate data to make a decision to activate a body-worn police camera. We have several other sensors in our network. We are using 802.15.4 for our weapon sensors, and we can add a Bluetooth transceiver to incorporate the fibit, if possible.
Can the fitbit transmit to a python shell running in windows?

@SunsetRunner No, it can't. Data has to sync to Fitbit before it can be retrieved through the API.

Do you mean it has to sync to Fitbit servers or an application?

@SunsetRunner To the Fitbit servers.
