Nice to see you here @tennis1! This sounds odd. Please try restarting your Zip to ensure that is working correctly.
Also, I would recommend checking the metal spring inside the Zip's battery compartment. Sometimes your tracker will have battery issues when this is bent. Here is a picture of how it should look like:
Keep me posted! 😉
LucyFitbit,
Thanks for replying. I checked the metal spring inside the Zips battery compartment and it wasn't bent. I then bought a new battery. With the new battery, I was able to get in a couple of hours, but then the Zip went blank again. It didn't work until later that night when I tapped it again, but the memory was all off. The time was from the morning. I was then able to sync it back with my phone, but then I lost all my steps for the day. It's strange.
Best AnswerMy fitbit zip also stopped. A reset did not work. I also checked the metal spring. Any other suggestions?

Best AnswerI am having the same issue with intermittent display and loss of steps/miles despite new battery. What is the average life expectancy of a Zip? Mine is 5-6 years old.
Best AnswerThank you, Dimples 13. Not sure what I will do at this point in time.
