I called the help line about problems with my fit bit zip new (name brand) battery lasting 9 days and they were rude and not helpful. They also refused to provide me with a new device because it was outside of the 1 year warranty (I got it April 2015... barely over a year old) and basically told me I was SOL, so I thought I would try here. I placed a new battery on July 11, today my device is dead as of noon. The app and device are up to date, the battery is placed correctly and has good attachment to the metal piece (which is not loose) in the device, the back is lined up correctly, and is closed correctly. Does anyone have any other ideas? I'm freaking out because I need this for insurance benefits and every day that it continues to die and not track I get penalized. I also don't feel I should have to put a new battery in every week on a device I got in April 2015 for it to work when the website says a battery should last 6 months. HELP! PLEASE!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by @lo23. We hold our Customer Support team to a high standard and they are usually very helpful and efficient in problem solving. I’m sorry you don’t feel this was the support you received. Was there anything in particular with the support experienced you felt was particularly confusing or frustrating? Was Customer Support able to offer troubleshooting steps or workarounds?
I’d like to add that the Fitbit warranty is only for a year. You can learn more about our warranty policy Returns and Warranty article.
Also, some users have mentioned that they’ve experienced the same issue due to a Loose Battery Connection. I recommend taking a look at this community thread for more information and troubleshooting steps.
If this doesn’t work, try restarting your tracker. You can do that by opening the battery door using the battery door tool and removing the battery. Then wait 10 seconds before placing the battery back into the tracker. Make sure the "+" side is facing up.
Let me know if this works!
