Someone please help me, the site and customer service isn't even slightly helpful and I'm ready to return my fitbit.

I hate the calories burned estimate, I just want it to start at zero when I wake up and show what I've manually burned, it makes it so frustrating having different number starts everyday and having to do the math manual to figure out what I burned, totally regret buying a zip. But didn't want to spend an extra 100 on my first one. When I Google what to do it says go under preferences to disable estimate but my won't do that, I think I just wasted 80 dollars 😞

Hello and welcome to the forums @SunsetRunner

There isn't anything you can do to change the burned calories. Everyone's day begins at midnight, no matter where you live or your work schedule.

When you first get your Fitbit, you will see burned calories. The devices begin the day at midnight, so no matter what time you set up, those burned calories will be there. This article on burned calories may help you. click to read

What you're seeing is normal and won't make any difference with your step statistics.

Buying your Zip wasn't a mistake. You bought it to make yourself healthier and keep track of your steps.

understand the BMR but I don't completely understand how it works, today it says I've burned 780 so far and tomorrow 2936 and the next day 1962. And the rest of the days say 1962. But why is tomorrow different ?  And can I assume the 1962 is what my body burns everyday, so at the end of the day I can subtract my final calories burned from 1962 and that will be what my I've done manually ? Just upset after my purchase I will have to do this everyday.

Ohh I figured it out ! You add walks and runs from another option on the dash board and it will tell you how many calories you burned doing that select workout. Thank you !
