Screen not sleeping

I got my Zip today and the screen never turns off. I understand that it is supposed to "sleep" after a few minutes of inactivity. It just stays on whatever screen it was last on. Is this normal? Will it affect the battery life?

Hmm this is pretty odd let me help you, I recommend you doing the restart

Sometimes the side spring may be bent as a result of improper battery insertion or pressure being applied to the back housing. Please verify that there is proper contact between the battery and the battery contacts inside your Zip tracker. You can do this by opening the battery door of your Zip, removing your battery, and ensuring that the silver battery tab located in the lower right half of your tracker is flush with the white box outline in the tracker housing. The process can be followed here: http://imgur.com/a/l1KwH

Hope it helps! Let me know how it goes :D.

After my second battery change on my Zip Bit, my Fitbit STOPPED sleeping. Now it goes through batteries evey few days. My first battery lasted 6 months. My second battery lasted about 3 months. Now I go through a battery once a week. I tried turing off display in my settings online and that seemed to turn the display off, but it still went through a brand new Duracell Lithium in three days. I think my less than 1 year old Zip Bit is shot. However, it is discouraging to hear that a brand new Zip has the same problem. I am wondering if we have a firmware problem, but my husband in on the same version and he is not having a problem.

I'm having the same problem.  I just replaced my battery on Tuesday after buying my Zip in January (2nd Zip, 1st died after 30 months of daily use).  My battery icon was already blinking today.  After some messing with the battery (in, out, rotate 180 degrees), the icon stopped blinking, but my app says my battery is half dead and the Zip won't go to sleep.  I'm positive my battery is good.  I took it out of the package bought from a specialty battery store this weekend.
