Tempromental Zip

I got my Zip tracker back in January, since then I've changed the battery on multiple occasions (even with it only displaying time and steps the battery life has never been more than 8 - 10 weeks).

The last time I changed the battery the first day or so I had to reset it several times because the time kept lagging/changing on its own. It eventually settled and seemed to be okay, although wasn't always registering steps or coming on when tapped, even before the batt became low. When I changed the battery this time, the time has jumped about a couple of times, but its also not coming on when tapped, losing steps completely, even after sincing, and just generally seems tempromental. I've reset it a couple of times already and it behaves for a while after each reset, but obviously this isn't the best solution.

Any advice would be welcome.

I had a similar issue. To resolve it, take out the battery. You will see a very small metal piece on the right side of fitbit. Try pulling it out some so that it makes better contact with the battery. It worked for me.

A warm welcome to the Forums @ToyIla and @shaddoSorry to read about the behavior of the battery in your Zip. Were you able to fix the issue with the awesome tip @doppes provided? If not, I suggest to contact our Support Team so they can take a look in your account and see the reason of this behavior and provide you with the best solution for this matter.

@doppes It's always nice to see how our Fitbitters help each other to keep up with the stepping!

Thank you @MarlenFitbit, happy to help. I want to mention another issue I had with my steps not uploading to app. They were displaying on my tracker, but not uploading to app.  I reinstalled app, shut down phone etc with no avail. I then took the battery out of fitbit and put back in and it seemed to resolve the issue.

Happy stepping!
