What is wrong with the fitbit zip?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Purchased my initial zip in June of last year. Was assured from the countless fitbit reps that the battery should last 6 months before changing. I've gone through 3 replacement zips since then. The last one, I got at the end of January has already died. Every rep has been rude and the last one I spoke to on the phone this week hun up when i asked to speak to a supervisor.

Instead of actual trying to see what the problem is with this device, the rude reps want me to return for a refund that I may or may not get according to all of my experiences with fitbit employees.

If all I'm doing is wearing on my collar and going on about life, there should be no reason for these devices to die. Even after replacing the batteries ( which I shouldn't have had to do), they die within a month- 2 months.

What is the issue with these devices???

Very unhappy with how I've been treated with this company.

@Danyaw It's nice to have you on board! Sorry to hear about your Zip tracker's battery draining fast. The best thing you can do is to clean the tracker's contacts with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. After this pull the contact toward you so the battery is properly secured (is it is loose it will be rebooting the tracker or the false contact may help decrease the battery's life). Regarding your experience with support I will look into this as this is not something that should be happening from their end. If they offered a refund then the offer should stand as this is outside the 45 days window is an exception that was offered from their side to you. Finally as a suggestion the Fitbit One has been a reliable tracker for many users (including myself) and in my personal case I have had it for 3 years, survived 2 washing machine trips and several bumps and falls. If you choose the refund this could be a good option to replace your Zip.

Please do tell me what it is the outcome or if you try my suggestions.

Ross, the last fitbit employee I've been dealing with made it very clear that he is not interested in anything but getting the last zip back even after I've voice my concern about not trusting anything I've been told. I've been told I would receive batteries that never came, I've been told I would be contacted by supervisors that I've never heard from, I've been told batteries would last 6 months and they've never lasted longer than 2. I'very been told to buy another device (as if I would pour any more money into a company not interested in fixing thebdevice Ive had for less than a year). And after being hung up on after asking to speak to the supervisor's superior, why would I ship back the last device and reasonably expect a refund to come to me in 3 weeks. Then I'd really be out of a device and all the batteries I purchased before I realized my devices were faulty.
