Zip adding steps while driving?!?!

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
Just got my Zip and it adds quite a few steps while I drive. My steps are now way off, as in a few hundred. If this is what I should expect during my 45 min commute to work, this is going back to the store ASAP. Any help?

It's great to see you around @Griffew. Your Zip will count steps while driving depending on what type of road you are driving through. This article explains how your Zip works while driving and how to negate those steps. This is a good idea to have a good track of your steps.

Hope this information helps, keep the stepping up! Woman Happy

This article does not tell me anything. I don't drive down country roads and I don't have a vehicle with suspension that is any different than any other vehicle on the road. I tried it again today. Same results. Also, when I sync it to MyFitnessPal, it won't adjust for calories. It just seems like it is more trouble than it is worth, so I will be returning it.

Regarding the steps @Griffew, you can create an activity called "driving", which will overwrite your calories, steps, etc, for the period you were driving. Or, you can download an app called "DriveBit", which you can activate while driving and will create an automatic driving activity for you.

Fitbit doesn't pass your calories burned through to your MFP account. Fitbit sends the calories you burned and MFP adds them, if those calories are over what you set to be your "typical" day, you told MFP that you typically burn a certain amount of calories but Fitbit has noticed you have done a bit more walking and estimates that you will end the day with certain amount of calories burned.

Happy stepping! Woman Happy
