Zip and one different steps

Why does my zip calculate less steps than my one did. 1 mile with Zip is just over 1000 steps but when I had the one it was around 2000.

Welcome to the Forums @SunsetRunner! To further assist you I have a couple of questions:

  • Where are you seeing this discrepancy (tracker, app, or online Dashboard)?
  • Are you using more than one Fitbit account to sync this data?
  • Are your accounts personal settings identical?
  • What activity were you doing when you noticed the discrepancy?

Keep me posted! 🙂

I had a Fitbit one last year and swapped to a zip. I am doing the same mile walk as I did before but I’m not calculating the same amount of steps. The data is showing the same on the zip and on whe dashboard. The accounts settings were identical.

Thanks for the reply @SunsetRunner! To ensure that your tracker is working correctly, restart it. Also, you can check the placing of your tracker in the help article How do I wear my tracker?  It's possible to get different readings if the trackers are worn in different locations.

I hope this helps keep me posted! 🙂
