I've been using my Zip for years and synching it with no problems--just the occasional battery contact problem where I have to poke and jiggle the contacts and eventually it works). But this time when I put the battery in, the face came up and numbers too but the battery icon had a line across it. What is weird is that when I walked around to test it, the # of steps on the Zip increased. But when I synched, the Zip synched back to the previous # that was on my iPhone. No matter how much I walk around, the iPhone won't change and it seems to have veto power over the Zip itself. I tried deleting the Zip and reconnecting. I put in a new battery. I even found an old Zip I thought I had lost and connected it to the iPhone instead. And the same thing happened. It looks as though I haven't taken any steps for the past 8 hours.

Disable WiFi on your phone or tablet and try again. That worked for me.
It’s the firmware update not the versa! This needs communicated to the programmers.
I think having Bluetooth and WiFi on at the same times screws something up with syncing.

It seemed to mysteriously resolve itself before I tried your suggestion, but I'll keep this in mind next time it happens--if it does. Thanks for the suggestion.
