Zip, discontinued?

Please Please PLEASE I beg of you to continue to market and inventory Zip trackers with your retailers. This is a reasonably priced, reliable and accurate tracker that works GREAT for activities where it is inconvenient or impractical to wear a wristwatch. The market is OVERFLOWING with wrist wearables from Fitbit and others...and frankly not everyone wants this look or feel. As a cyclist, i can clip my zip on my shorts and get "activity" on my ride; after all, my legs are working as hard as any walk or run! As a tennis player, my FB Blaze simply doesn't pick up all my steps since my arm is often steadily holding a racquet as I run. Not to mention, I sometimes wear a wrist support band. In a pocket, clipped on clothing (or even bra), I get a more accurate count. Set yourselves apart from every other tracker manufacturer and keep selling the awesome Zip!! (Bring back colors too, but even ONE option will make me happy!)

THANK YOU!

Fitbit  killed the Zip on March 6, 2019 when they announced the release of the Inspire and Inspire HR.

At the same time they killed the Alta, Alta HR, and Flex 2.  They had earlier killed off the One.

The Zip is gone.  But not forgotten.  This little device made Fitbit the successful company that it is today.

I am really upset to hear this, and will find an alternative by way of a simple pedometer, I guess. Not sure why companies have to do this....keep “improving” on something that needed none!!

I agree and I don't want to wear a wrist band. I have the feeling it is to
make more money.

coco14,

I completely agree with you!  I have an apple watch and I still wear my zip as I find it to be much more accurate than any other wearable, and I have tried many.  FITBIT, please continue to make these.  Some of the wearables don't track my activity and the zip has always been reliable.

Thanks!  Faithful user for many years.

That is just wrong to not allow updates, but nothing that I didn’t expect...don’t care about customers.

Called Fitbit and rep told me that Fitbit has decided not to make them anymore. Fitbit will not be doing anymore updates either!  So if your zip does not sync (I have 2 zips) now, they never will!  Mine don't sync - now junk!

If it helps, I have found that i can synch my Zip by-remove the battery and put it back in-go through the process of linking a new device (even though its the same one)And i do it every day.  But it still seems to work.....Sent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device

Thanks...that what I am doing now too. It is a pain!

Fitbit helped me to download Fitbit Desktop app and the Zip will automatically sync with the computer if you have a toggle.

frankly if the zip is discontinued, I will not go to the wrist- had a medical issue with hand circulation and I never wear wrist ornaments!!!!! and as others have iterated--the clip on is much more accurate and has a longer battery life!!! important for those of us who travel internationally and do not bring electronic devices with us,

and use the local stuff not linked to your fitbit-----zip also has an awesome memory capability!!!

I agree that there is no reason to eliminate this simple yet effective device that was affordable.  I'm on my 3rd which I had to buy on EBay...the alternative Fitbit is selling on their site as a clip on got horrible reviews.

It is obvious that Fitbit isn't hearing their customers. I don't want a
wrist band period.

Totally agree!!!  I do NOT need a second sport watch.  I need a fitness clip on!
