Checked my steps today and found I needed another 160 to make goal. Went for a walk up and down my block. When I got home, Zip showed I walked 7100+ steps in that short period of time. Of course, I know that was not possible. I keep the device in my pant side pocket. Anyone have any idea why this would happen? Any idea how to prevent it from happening again?

Welcome to the Forums @Macman43! Thanks for sharing your experience with your Fitbit Zip. This sounds odd.
To ensure that your Zip is working correctly, please restart it. And make sure to take a look at the help article How accurate are Fitbit trackers?
Also, double check that you haven't manually logged an activity incorrectly or if a third party app is not logging extra steps.
I hope this helps, keep me posted! 🙂
