I have followed all the suggestions on this. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I have removed the battery. After removal of the battery it then paired and synced. That was yesterday. Today it will not sync. Android's last phone update was July 19 so that is not the problem. The Fitbit was syncing fine as of 8/19/19. I think the issue is that Fitbit is no longer supporting out of date devices and that the most recent Fitbit update which DID occur in the last week is the problem, NOT the phone which is what all the replies are blaming. It is much easier to blame the phone than to own up and acknowledge that older devices are no longer working with new updates of Fitbit app. I would like to see this issue addressed as taking the battery out everyday is not acceptable solution.

I had noticed last night that my zip had not synced since 8 AM on the 23rd. I tried restarting my phone, syncing again, and taking out the battery and setting it up again. Nothing is working. I did not realize there had been an update. This is the second zip I have had as the last one needed 3 batteries in 3 months. They need to fix this soon as my insurance uses this info.

I have same problem. Just stopped syncing 2 days ago. My zip is only a few months old. Was sold to me at full price, not as an outdated device. I have reinstalled the app, shut down phone etc but still not working. Can not update tracker software as device does not connect. Have been using zip for 4 years without such a problem. Now on my 3rd Zip. No onvious help available from Fitbit.

Zip over night quit syncing . Fit bit is no longer supporting the zip. They don't even offer it on there website. Say good bye to fit bit as I regretfully did and say hello Google. In my profession a product as the zip is the only option. Google has a similar product. Like many I am over removing the battery every night. Hey fit bit tell us the truth!!

Same problem and approach. After multiple attempts over several days, zip finally synced this morning but will not sync tonight. Also is an older zip.

Interesting.
I just got off the phone with support and they never mentioned that the Zips were no longer supported.
Why would we spend any more money on a company that treats us so badly?!?

I'm having the same problem with my Fitbit Zip no longer synching, and I, too, have tried the suggestions listed in the thread with no ongoing success. After resetting the Zip by removing then replacing the battery, I can get it to synch with the app on my Samsung Note 5 once, but to get it to synch again, I have to once more reset the Zip by removing and re-inserting the battery. I have inserted 3 new batteries over the past three days, thinking that I bought a package of "dud" batteries, but that's not the problem. I've only had the Zip for 3 months, and about 3 days ago I began to have the problem with synching. I, too, would appreciate suggestions if anyone has found something that works!

just finished with a live chat. Had to get my son down to help understand what was needed. First step was to tell her my phone (Samsung Galaxy J3 Eclipse and was told that that phone is not on their list of supported phones.) Next I had to remove the zip from my phone, undo the blue tooth, reboot my phone, and take out the battery from the ZIP. it did sync but I lost all the info from Aug 23rd at 8:35 am until just now when I put the battery in. The info from the 22nd and before is still there. It took my computer literate son to figure out what was to be done. Why did the update take phones off the list. It had worked fine before.

Got up this morn and the zip is not working again. Spent an hour with them fixing it last night to get it to sync and this morn it could not find the zip that was sitting on top of the phone. If they can't fix it they should offer us a deal on something else or I will be looking at other options that are not fit bit.

Have continued to try to sync with phone without success and do not want to keep taking the battery out or forcing quit since that isn't helping. Not satisfactory but finally made the effort to sync using my computer (Windows 10) and it worked there. I would note that the updated results did then show up on my phone. Would also note that we had not updated the app on the computer and I had to turn off the Bluetooth on the phone to make it work. Really annoyed. Now we shall see if there is success tonight when I try the computer again. We also have the scale and it is syncing so definitely a problem with the app.

My lengthy chat with support boiled down to my 3 Samsung devices, S10, Tab S3 and an older tablet, that all worked previously are not on the approved device list so I was just lucky until recently. What I don't know is if they were ever on the list. There was a mention of Bluetooth 5.0 but no clear explanation. Anyway the 2 newer devices are Samsung mainstays so I can't imagine they won't ever be supported.
Windows 10 app seems to works as does the removal and reinsert of the battery with the phone app.

Is there any updates to the fix? Is there even any fix going on? This is my 2nd Zip in 6 months and I need to know what is being done. When I had trouble the first time they offered me 1/2 off a different type of Fit Bit. I went with another zip for free but feel that was the wrong way to go. If they cannot fix this permanently what are you going to do for us Zip owners. My insurance gave me the first as a way to cut my premiums and they are questioning why I am not using it any more because there is no data.

Have not been able to sync with my Android phone for two weeks. No answer from Fitbit. Now...can no longer sync on laptop either. Time to move on to a better device. NEVER get an answer from Fitbit except buy a new device. This is a new device.
