All details removed from the charts after Fitbit App change

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

All of the details have been remove from the charts, you used to be able to see the actual values for every 15 minutes of the day by tapping on the colour coded bars of the charts, now it is an useless chart, no colour coded, no values, why? and what’s the point of the chart now? just bars with no useful data on them, it does nothing anymore, why?

These are the screens I’m talking about, I’ve been using Fitbit for years and now and these charts used to have the bars colour coded red, yellow and green depending on the intensity and more importantly one could touch each bar and see the time of the day and the value, so I could see at what time of the I did that walk, it was useful specially at night. Now these charts are simply useless, no values, no time, it’s just bars with no meaning, what am I supposed to do with these charts now? Just some blue bars with no information at all, without actual values charts are meaningless? Why was this changed?

I am seeing the same thing. I have chatted with Fitbit twice this week; very frustrating. First person said it happened because of the upgrade and is meant to be "fixed" on the next upgrade. Second person was ridiculous and didn't seem to even know how Fitbit app works. I have spent about 2 hours trying to get help resolving this so far; unbelievable. No-one knows when the next app upgrade will be so we wait. I literally have to log onto Fitbit.com to see my exertion levels, time and # of steps.

Honestly getting help from Fitbit is a bit of a joke most of the time. I have the same issue; everyone does I think who's app got upgraded apparently. One person had no idea what it was meant to doing as far; I had to send screenshots and was trying to search my phone for a screenshot of when it did work; spent an hour chatting with them trying to get more info and they still didn't get it !!  YOUR LAST UPGRADE WAS NOT AN UPGRADE; FIX IT ASAP. Completely useless data right now. What is the point in having a teal and white bar chart with no info. I NEED to know my exertion levels and time and # of steps from that page; not have to go onto the web site on my phone and find the data there !!

Yes. I've noticed this problem too in the iOS app. When I tap-hold on a bar in a chart I no longer see a pop-up with additional data. (But I still get that info when I hover over the bar in the chart on the web app.)

This change makes the app pretty useless. Like others, I have no desire to log into the website app just to check basic data.

It's important to me because I use it as a way of seeing, later in the day, the exact time (within 15 mins) when I was active, as well as a way of seeing exactly how many steps I took within particular time periods.
Just contacted support through chat and they suggested "troubleshooting" by logging off and on, etc. Then I asked them to first check whether this was the result of a recent app update and they came back with a generic "bug fixes and performance improvements" message. From the replies here it seems that it is indeed a change emerging from a recent app update, deliberate or accidental. I hope it's reverted promptly.

I have the same issue with my graphs. Is there An update for resolution of this issue?

I have spoken w/a LOT of Fitbit "moderators" and it appears to be the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing over there. The last I heard this function was deliberately removed from the app on the IPhone; my friend has Fitbit on a diff. phone and she has no problem seeing detail.  You refuse to reinstall it for us IPhone people and its ridiculous.  I am using this for health reasons; I NEED to know my exertion level etc. and to go onto the website on my phone and have to look up the detail step info is insane.  I have waited a year for this to be rectified and every app update nothing happens. I am over FitBit and will find another company to support.

Well that reply was over a year ago and you guys still havent fixed it.... I won't be seeing you around.  I am really pissed off.

As a blind user I have learned more about these charts based on the conversation occurring in this thread. Thank you for the information. I have been asking for a long time about these screens. I have a feeling that because it affects people who can see the screens that it will be fixed more quickly.

I wonder which will be corrected first the grabs or the steps Creek counter.

Moreover the chart for step count in app v3.69 pretends it is empty because there is no data …. While the graph on the plain web site is ok. Honestly that app upgrade is dramatic: I don’t understand how the bare minimum testing has failed spotting this. Or is there some intended sabotage for the IOS users? Hard to believe but I see no other explanation.

I feel the same; some kind of dispute with IOS  because it only affects IOS users from my research.... bloody annoying.

I see three ways to (ensure it gets enough priority from ITIL Problem Manager and attention from FitBit software engineers) to get it fixed:
- have this forum thread becoming popupar (please vote!)
- contact helpdesk (I did it, through the chat)
- put a comment/scrore reflecting the issue with the app on the AppStore

By the way, this is a perfect example on a weak point of the IOS App Store: there is absolutely no way to roll-back when there is an app release with a big flaw like that one ..except of course to restore the full device and ensure not to upgrade anymore but this is super heavy. I wish it could be possible to "restore backup for a selected app" (both its data and the former version).
