This company is ridiculous. It has been over two months with the same old tired we’re working on it answer. Just roll us back to the old version of the app and let the Ionic use the new version of the app. The devices are too different for one app to support both. At this rate no one will buy the Ionic because no one trusts you guys anymore.

This has been going on for two months.

1. Fitbit did an app update and it started making users log in multiple times a day.

2. Fitbit is patching the app continually - crappy fixes that don't work.

3. The app says we have to log in for 'security'.

4. Log in on a computer and never have to log in again, for years. It remembers us.

5. Stop the madness - remove the requirement to re-log in. My wife says just screw it and get an Apple Watch.

Piss poor customer service.

Constantly having to log in is unacceptable. This is the only app that has this bug. Fix it and stop making excuses.

Do we have any new updates on this issue?  2 months is a lengthy time to still be experiencing this.  Thanks!

Since the update to v2.42 the logout problem has been happening on my iPhone 7Plus connected to my Fitbit ONE. Extremely annoying to have to login once or more per day.

Seems this is a long term bug that cannot be quashed by the developers.

My fitbit app starting logging me out daily starting Nov 1, 2017.  This coincides with updating my IPhone 6s to IOS 11.x This issue was first reported in August, and updates say recent release "mitigated" issue.  Nearly three months and no resolution?  Sad!

They created this ‘bug’. I suspect it is part of a ‘feature’ for the Ionic.
Those of us with older models are collateral damage.
If you want to get attention, post on their FB pages.
As long as just the few of us posting remain on this little know community site, it causes them negligible grief.

I have the Charge 2, which has connected GPS. The app started logging out on 9/4. This made my GPS useless. I followed all troubleshooting suggestions and even did the online chat for help. Nothing worked. I posted here. Nothing. I posted on the FitBit FaceBook page and quickly got a response. It was agreed everything failed. They sent me a new Charge 2, which I knew was not going to work. The problem is the app, which also failed to connect to FitBit connect on the desktop. What finally worked? I purchased a VPN. Only when I am out of service or wifi range does the app disconnect. With VPN, no more problems. I should not have to pay a third party to make my FitBit work. They will lose customers and have poor reviews. Too bad, my family has purchased multiple trackers over the past 3 years. Apple and Garmin are looking real good for sales this holiday season...

Same problem. Incredibly frustrating when you use long secure passwords. Why isn't this fixed yet?

I will not be purchasing another fitbit product.  I just lost sleep data because of this bug.  I don't log in daily but I expect it to sync daily...

Thanks for working on this problem. I'm still getting kicked out of the app despite being current on updates and syncing. Sending encouragement for your efforts as it is a royal pain!

Every single time I open the app I have to log in. Seriously this is extremely frustrating! ☹️

I got the problem a few weeks ago (maybe three/four weeks ago?).

At the time, I checked if I had done anything on my phone to create the issue, but I hadn't recently upgraded to a new iOS version and I hadn't installed any new FitBit app release in several weeks.

After a coupe of weeks (i.e.: about 1/2 weeks ago) the "login issue" simply disappeared. I haven't been logged out in a very long time and my FitBit is always connected to the phone without losing any data. I also restarted the app and the phone, without needing to login into the app.

So I guess that the problem is neither on the phone/iOS nor on the app... it must be something at the level of the FitBit servers and/or login system.

Was just coming in to mention this.  Since the latest IOS update my iPhone 5s is doing the same - logging me out daily.  Now I read this has been an ongoing issue for some for months.  Not good enough given the price people pay for their gadgets!  Will we see a resolution before 2018?

I managed to solve this issue by unpairing my fitbit, deleting the app, and then re-downloading it and re-pairing my fitbit. Haven't had a logout in about 2 weeks now!

@nickw444 - did that cause you to lose all the saved data or is that okay because it's on the website?

Nope, all my data is synced to the cloud.

My experience indicates that the issue only appears if you are connected on
a network where the fitbit connectivity is not effective.

It is for example the case with hotel/company wifi redirecting traffic to
their login server before offering internet connectivity.

I have the feeling that the fitbit app now interpret some of those
"redirection" or "HTTP status" as if the login was failing, ...hence
forcing a logout status for the user.

The issue won't appear if:
- you disable continuous background synchronisation of your device or even
- at IOS level - background execution of the fitbit app
- you ensure proper internet connectivity (eg entering your credentials
etc.) before manually launching the fitbit app

Is there a way for us to put our name on the list of people still

ha bing issues even wit the latest version?  I actually wasn’t having an issue until one of the “fix” updates. Just my luck 😞
