For the first time in ages, I didn't have to log in yesterday.  I was so excited!!  Today?  Yeah, not so much...had to log in.  So. Annoying.

It is slowly but steadily starting to affect the use of fitbit itself. Considering other devices and apps. This bug is extremly stupid because it has a very simple workaround - just add a fingerprint (and faceid if you like) login option.

If the login issues have been known since August, why has this problem not been fixed. I’ve tried all the turn off/on help etc., but still having problems, so annoying. Please can a fix be found soon, this has gone on long enough.

New symptom: 2-3 times now, I've started my morning jog with track exercise -> stopwatch -> start.  I've even heard the audible alerts in my headphones as the miles go by, so I know that the fitbit app was tracking me.

But when I reach the end and unlock my phone and launch the fitbit app to stop the exercise session, I'm brought to the fitbit login screen.

Specifically: I was logged in when I started the exercise session, but somewhere in the middle of the 1-1.5 hour exercise session, the app decided to log me out.

This has happened 2-3 times in the past 2 weeks.

I have been logged out in the middle of exercise, too. The watch loses the ability to access GPS information when this happens.

Fitbit is garbage now. I will be going to another brand.

As of today, 12-14-2017, I have to log in every time I close the app.  I have app version 2.44 which updated 1 day ago.  I have also updated to ios version 11.2.1.  This is extremely annoying.  I have restarted my app and my phone with no change.

@Hey1@delowy@Azedges24  - thanks for your report. Could you help our team look into this by sending the iOS logs to our support team, we will review the information right away.

To do this:

  1. Turn ON Airplane Mode
  2. Go to your Fitbit app, tap on the account button on the top right of the dashbord > Help > Contact Customer Support
  3. Tap 'Ok' on the pop up prompt
  4. You should see an email contact form
  5. Turn OFF Airplane Mode
  6. Click send

Let me know if you have any questions.

Great freaking update. Now I can’t even get the app to load. It tries to update the database, then gives me a message that “something went wrong” and I should “retry”.

Again and again and again and again.

So my fitbit app is now totally useless. Only a slight step down from where it was.

I posted on this thread 11/9 that with an iPhone 6, iOS 10.3.3, Fitbit 2.42 was logging me out.

Ever since I updated to 2.4.31, still with iOS 10.3.3, I haven't had the issue a single time. I haven't updated the app since then.

I probably do launch the app a few more times per day than I was before, but I'm not sure that's the key.

It is STILL happening. I have to log in every time I open the app. Customer service says your engineers are working on it, but looks like this has been a problem since August. I have just purchased an upgraded Fitbit, still in the box. If this isn't fixed in the next few days, I will return it and purchase

another brand. This issue turned my Fitbit into a watch.

It’s still happening.  Updated to version 2.44.  Every time I close out app, I need to log in again when I open it back up.  Very frustrating.

@HeidiNJ@sd291 - sorry to hear this, if possible, it would be helpful in order to investigate if you could provide your iOS logs following the instructions in my post above.

@eye95 it looks like your app is updated and syncing, if you are still experiencing spontaneous log outs, it would be helpful if you could forward your logs.

@beacon126 glad it appears to be resolved, I do recommend updating the app to 2.44.

I still have to log in everytime I open the app even if I just did a uppdate. And my app is losing my data from last week so I can’t go back to see how I did last week and compare to how I did this week..

I have the latest iOS version but I have to login every time I open the app. I never had this problem until I added a device the other day (HR). Note that I never logout. I simply swipe the app to close it. Please provide a fix or I’ll have to return the device and find another that has a usable app. Thanks!
