Bottom half of app not updating

Hi guys,

This is kinda confusing to explain but I'm gonna try. Ever since yesterday, the bottom half of my Fitbit won't update. In the areas that track exercise, sleep, steps per hour, weight, water and calories the data remains the same as previous days. If I manually update it, it changes but then when I look back to the previous days that day's information is lost. I've tried logging in and out of the app, deleting and reinstalling the app, shutting my phone off and on and nothing works. If I log into my account on the Fitbit website everything updates perfectly fine. Has this happened to anyone else? Wondering what I can do to fix it cause it's been bothering me. Thanks!

Hello @bb1625 and @groundzero, I hope you're doing well. Welcome to the Community @hbspires

As @groundzero mentioned, the previous version of the app was different but it was updated a couple of months ago. I understand your concern about this situation, which is why I went ahead and located a suggested idea by @BobTheCat to implement a way to see the information from previous days in all the tiles when swiping. Feel free to add your vote and comment on this idea, this is truly the best way to make your voice heard.

I hope this can be helpful, keep me posted in case you need anything else! Smiley Happy

Hello @bb1625, thanks for joining us, it's great to see new faces around! Smiley Happy

Currently when you swipe the information on the dashboard inside the Fitbit app, only the top tile (steps, floors, calories, distance and active minutes) will show information from previous days. The other tiles will only display information for today. If you'd like to see the information from previous days on each tile, please tap on it to display it.

If you're still seeing data from a previous day on the Dashboard, please reply with a screenshot so I can check this further.

I hope this has resolved your inquiry, keep me posted in case you need anything else! Smiley Wink

This continues to be an issue for me as well! I tried contacting customer service, with a PDF of images and everything, to no avail! The person who helped me had no clue what I was talking about. The response from the moderator here is semi-helpful (re: only the top half of the app dashboard changes when scrolling through days) but I have looked at friends' apps where their entire dashboard changes when scrolling through the days. I've tried each of those things you mentioned, and nothing has helped. It's really irritating to not be able to scroll through a quick glance of all past data.

@MarcoGFitbit thank you for this explanation! It was driving me crazy. Is this something that's going to be fixed, or is it going to be like this from now on?

@hbspires thank God it's not just me! The weird thing is my Fitbit app always showed the previous data up until 2 days ago, then this started happening. It's just strange how all of a sudden it did this, it's not like it was like this the entire time! Glad to know we're in the same boat 🙂

That was the old version of the app--it was really great! And yes, you could scroll through everything together. So if you have friends who still have that, they probably haven't updated their app--and they shouldn't! Because once you update, the good old app is gone, and you are stuck with the bad new one.

On the new one, you can tap each indivudual tile and see past data, but you can't see two things at once, let alone all of them, so if you wanted to compare, say, calories burned to steps taken, that is no longer possible.
Many people complained about this with the new app, but Fitbit's response is "That's the way it is."

Yeah, I already voted for that proposal. But given how hard people fought for this, and how entirely it was ignored, I have to say, I do not feel very hopeful.

To be honest, since the new app came out, I find myself interacting with Fitbit less and less. I used to be so engaged! Now I just get my buzz, note my total steps, and forget about it. A shame, because I used to be so into seeing how my stats affected one another, which made me pay more attention to each one. Now that I can't do that, I find I can't work up much enthusiasm for checking things. I get data, but I can't do anything with that data, so...

Hello @groundzero, I hope you're having a great day. Smiley Happy

I would like to thank you once again for your feedback and for taking the time to reply. Our team is always looking forward to improve the Fitbit experience and I completely understand you're not feeling motivated because of the way the Dashboard is presented in the app.

Thank you so much for voting for the suggested idea, and thank you so much for your patience and understanding. If there's anything else I can do for you, please keep me posted.
