I saw the forms back in March for people were still having this issue but it seems that the help department says this issue has been resolved.
Please help

Hello, @Driscoll15, @pegmumford! Thanks for joining in. Are you both still unable to join Challenges? This problem should be currently resolved.
Have you tried force quitting and restarting the App? Also make sure that you have a good and strong Internet connection at the moment you are attempting to do this.
You can force close the App by: rapidly double tapping the iOS home button > swipe left until you see a preview of the Fitbit iOS App > and then swipe up on the preview to force close.
