Can’t see history of food logs in app on iPhone

I started logging my food intake on May 1, 2020 and all has been well until the last few days. While I used to be able to go back to the beginning to review, I can now only see approximately the last 30 days in the app (3.33) on my iPhone 6s (13.7). Oddly enough I can see all but the first 10 days on the app on my iPad2 (13.7). I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled the app a couple of times. Sure was nice to have that data at my fingertips. Any ideas?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Parms.

I am sorry to hear you can't see your history of food logs in your iPhone appThanks for trying to resolve this, I appreciate the additional details and I am here to help. I recommend trying the following:

  1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  3. Reboot your phone.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and log back in to your account.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Hi. Thanks for the response. Did what you asked to no resolution. Now I can see back to September 29. Two days ago was I could go back to September 27. Not sure about yesterday, but sure looks like it only wants me to see thirty days.

For some time now, the iOS app has only shown the past six months - I currently go back to May 1st. That will advance to Just 1st a few days from now.

I suspect this was done because unless you take the app out of memory after going back a year or so, the food log data stays in memory and slows the app down. I can attest to that, as I went back two years and noticed sluggishness in the app. As an IT professional, I quickly understood what was going on, but I'm sure most users would not and would start hitting the "complaint line" or on-line chat.

On the web food log page I can go back to August 10, 2017 which corresponds to my starting to track my foods. I is a little awkward, but doable.

Seems kind of random since I could go to the beginning (May 1 this year for me) in the app on my phone until the recent update and now only about 30 days. I can go back to May 13 on my iPad. If it was a conscious decision by the programmers, to me it was a bad one. If not, it’s a bug that needs fixed. If I don’t have enough memory on my iPhone then tell me that.
