I am trying to set up a calorie deficit but every time I do it reverts back to a number of calories. I have restarted my Fitbit, deleted and reinstalled app multiple times, offloaded data. I am
clicking on my profile in the app and going to food goal under nutrition and weight, setting a calorie deficit and confirming my choice. It will show goal as calorie deficit but as soon as I leave that screen it reverts back to a daily calorie goal. I also don’t have the ability to set a goal weight, only body fat goal. My phone is running most recent iOS so I think it may be an app problem.

mine is doing the same thing

Best AnswerSo mine had now reverted to a calorie deficit goal. I wanted to change this to a 500 calorie deficit (which is how I realised it wasn’t working in the first place) and it simply keeps reverting to the 1000 cal deficit. So it’s seeing a deficit goal, but it’s still stuck and won’t update
It’s finally working for me too! I had to delete my previous weight loss goal and then recreate it in order to get rid of the fixed number of calories that kept showing. Just sharing in case it’s helpful to others…

Best AnswerFor me it’s working for some minutes, but then goes back to the number of calories again🥴
Agreed!! 👍 I’ve just tried mine and it’s FINALLY working but not sure how long for….! They have not dealt well with this issue and feel like they will loose a lot of loyal people!

Me too - so tantalising!

Update from me at 09.55 GMT - it works for just a few minutes and then it goes wrong again. But it goes wrong in a different way! What it is telling me now is that I am over calories by the exact amount of calories that I have logged for the day (and it is ignoring the calorie expenditure which I’ve also logged for today). I’m hoping this means it’s going through testing and keeping my fingers firmly crossed!
Best AnswerSorry guys, but it is just too soon to post this. The question is not answered and the problem is not solved – not for everyone anyway. There has been a momentary fix which has reverted.
A lot of the frustration around this has been the lack of communication from Google and then wrong communication when there has been any …

My calorie deficit is still not working
Is this fix being rolled out country by country or en-mass ?

Best AnswerIt had been working for me for about a day. But now it does not hold the 250 cal deficit that I try to set. After a few minutes it reverts back to a random calorie amount. So it is still not fixed. Please provide an update as to how the fix is being rolled out as it seems many people are still experiencing problems, including myself. The lack of communication from Fitbit on this has been very frustrating. TIA
