My steps are updating normally within the app but not updating on my friends steps? I've tried logging in logging out shutting down my phone and restarting, turning off Bluetooth and trying again and forcing the app to close but still not updating. Any ideas?

Me too, and it looks like Fitbit support has never found an actual solution despite this issue happening to people for years

I tried all their tips in this thread (sign out/close app/restart phone) and nothing yet. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Same problem here. The steps are synced, but not updated in the challenge. I already restarted the app and my phone. Nothing helps. Can it be due to the new update of the iOS app layout? This has changed last week.

Hello- I’m encountering the same issue all the members have expressed in this thread - my steps aren’t translating fo my challenges. What is Fitbits response to this issue? I did all the steps Marco mentioned earlier.

Hi, I followed all the steps, restarted fitbit, reinstalled the app and resync manually, nothing seems to work to put my steps in the challenge but my friend's steps are being updaed. any other idea?

I have about 32000 steps total for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and it's only showing 198!! 😠

Hello I just joined and got Fitbit premium and made a custom challenge for my work colleagues and it is not updating anyone's steps even thought the challenge was set to start at 6 AM. Also, the challenge says it will start in less that one hour, but it looks like the challenge has already started. What are your thoughts? Does the system just have to update itself or is there an error?

Did we ever come up with an actual fix? I was having no issues until about 4 months ago. Having the app calculate 6,000 steps or more, but having the challenge update to zero is more than a bit frustrating.

Ugh. I have tried all of the suggestions in this thread. I have Google and searched on reddit and have tried any and all things to fix it. So I contacted fitbit support and so far they have told me the same things here and the issue is not fixed. Frustrating that this has been going on for 4 years...
