Charge 2 not syncing with Fitbit app.

Fitbit charge 2 will not sync. iOS 12 installed just today thinking it was that. Have restarted iPhone 6s, have disconnected Bluetooth numerous times, deleted device (and now won’t “find” my device). Just started all of a sudden. Help please!

Hello @Keekslee226@Reefs and @Njbrandt, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. I'd also like to thank you for sharing the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.

@Keekslee226, thanks for coming back and let us know that after contacting our Support Team you will be receiving a new tracker, I'm very glad.

@Reefs and @Njbrandt, if you're still having trouble syncing your Fitbit device, I would like to suggest you to try the following:

  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I’ve already done this a couple of times now.

I appreciate IOS 12 is very new. I was familiar resetting on IOS 11. It would just stop syncing occasionally, but A full reset would bring it back.

hopefully we’ll see an IOS 12 supported update from fitbit sometime soon.

Hello @Reefs, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. At this moment I would like to suggest you to update the Fitbit app as we have just released a new version. Then if you're still having trouble syncing your device, my best recommendation will be enabling All-day Sync in the Fitbit app so the tracker can maintain a constant communication with the Fitbit app. Don't worry, it has been tested and proven that All-day will not drain the battery on your phone or your tracker faster than usual.

To enable All-day Sync go to Account > Your Tracker and scroll down until you find the option to enable this feature.

If there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Was yours under the one year warranty? Because I called and after spending 30 min on the phone doing all of the troubleshooting I had already tried on my own. They told me they could offer me 25% off a new product. Mine was purchased December 2016 and stopped working in June 2018 only 6 months after the warranty was up. I think it’s pretty scetchy to make products that stop working so shortly after a warranty is up therefore forcing customers to purchase new merchandise.

I too started experiencing the same problem about a week ago.  I have restarted iphone, deleted and reinstalled Fitbit app and deleted watch from app.  Now app just searches for my watch and can’t find it.  What is solution?

Unfortunately there wasn’t a solution for me so mine is now in the garbage and I’ll be investing in a different company for my fitness tracking going forward.

I just spoke with customer support and they had me reset the watch by plugging it into charger. While plugged in hold button in until watch buzzes. Works fine now

Yeah, Just the all day sync. Hasn’t worked since the IOS 12 update.

i’ve removed, re-installed and pretty much setup everything from scratch. Rebooting both phone and band. No joy.

Manual sync works fine though, which I can run occasionally for now until all day sync is working again

mine was working fine until earlier today, now it see's the device, tries to sync, then fail.

removed device to reconnect, now it will not even connect with device, it see's it, tries to link, then fails

so it knows it is there, just fails to make that connection.....

comes up with

(com.fitbit.HTTP error 500.)

if that helps

hope it is an issue at fitbit's end, because if I get the reply/message, buy a new fitbit, then I will be amused......
