Charge 3 doesn't stay connected over Bluetooth

Every so often, two or three times a week, I lose my text notification on my Charge 3 from my iPhone 8. If i go into the notifications settings i just see the spinning wheel and cannot get into the settings. What i have to do is go into my Bluetooth settings in my phone and forget the connection. Then go back into the fitbit app and go into the notifications settings and it will then ask to pair up. I can pair no problem and everything then works. How can i get it to stay connected and not have to do this every other day?

Hi @bwestfall. It's great to see you around!

Thanks for letting me know about your Charge 3 and the steps tried prior posting to get your tracker connected. Usually, once you accept the pair request in the Fitbit app your tracker should stay paired. Since this isn't happening, may I know if you have multiple Bluetooth connections around that might be interfering with this connection? For example, if you've synced your tracker with another phone or tablet, or if your iPhone 8 is connected to another device.

If that doesn't apply to you, let's try reconnecting your tracker to the Fitbit app:

  1. Remove your Charge 3 from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Turn off other Bluetooth connections that are nearby.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  4. Open the Fitbit app, tap on your profile picture > Set Up a Device.
  5. Choose your Charge 3, tap on replace and follow the onscreen instructions.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

I did this the other day and my iPhone was working with my Charge 3. I just noticed I stopped receiving  text notifications on my Charge 3. I had to remove the Charge 3 from my Bluetooth connections then go into the fitbit app, tap the Charge 3 icon when trying to sync then click notifications and it will go through the pairing cycle again. It works after that but it will not stay connected for long term.

Hi @bwestfall. Welcome back! I'm sorry for my delay.

I'm glad that your Charge 3 is now syncing with your iPhone! Thanks for keeping me updated, as well for your efforts while troubleshooting the notifications issues experienced. I understand how helpful it's to get all your features working correctly. Let me explain that with the introduction of iOS 13, the required settings to receive notifications on your Charge 3 from your iPhone changed. That said, I'd recommend to visit this thread where you'll find instructions to get the notifications working again.

Hope to see you around more often! 😊
