I’m unable to connect to my tracker. Charge 3. I have followed all your recommendations to trouble shoot and it’s still not connecting. Any suggestions

i followed these instructions. The tracker displays the connection code and I enter it into the app. It says connecting for a while then says "it's taking longer than normal, but we're on it!" but then it doesn't do anything.

I finally got the stupid thing to work with my Android phone after sync problems and then the problem of "it's taking longer than normal, but we're on it!" when trying to add a Fitbit to the app. I tried just about everything, then this worked:
1. Reset bluetooth on your phone - this is a nuisance as it is not possible to reset just blluetooth, it also resets wifi and possibly other services depending on your version of Android, but I associate doing this with my eventual success. You could try just deleting the bluetooth pairing for the Charge 3 if there is one in the list, but that wasn't the case for me. To do the full reset, type 'reset' in to the search bar under Settings. For recent Android you'll see a result for 'Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth', older versions something like ''Network settings reset'
2. Reset the Fitbit App on your phone - force stop the Fitbit app, then under Storage 'Clear Data'. This is equivalent to a fresh install of the app.
3. Clear data on your Fitbit Charge 3 - without the Fitbit in the charging cradle, swipe screen right three times... Settings... About... Clear User Data... click on the tick
4. Setup the Fitbit App on your phone: open the app, sign in to your account, give permissions suggested (whether already ticked or not on latest Android)
5. Add your Charge 3 to the app - click on the account circle icon top left in the app, click '+ Set up a Device', continue to follow instructions.
Good luck!

How about just make the thing work, mines going back to the shop so they can fix it, if they can't, I'l just buy a normal watch.
Instead of making things as bad as people will accept, make them properly. Every other item I have with bluetooth works fine all the time. Seems Fitbit should be have another four letter word that rhymes, starts with "S" ends with "hit"

This did work for me to get my Charge 3 to sync, but only once and then will not sync again
It worked normally for 9 months & then suddenly started to give problems
Some times will sync when power cord attached but not without
When I try to sync a red explanation mark appears. Assume that means no connection - Is that correct?

I’ve done all that and still nothing. I think the actual watches themselves have the fault in them. So many people complaining of the same thing.

Exactly. The watches are faulty

I have restarted both devices and on the apis says it’s synced, but I’m not receiving texts and when I go to change the clock face for instance, it says unable to connect to charge 3. Any other ideas. Mine is only like 5 days old.

5 days old? Go get your money back. I have been trying to sync mine for three months, sometimes it does, most times it does not. A horrible waste of time. I am pretty sure they will not let this answer get through you.

just restart your phone and let is try to sync for a minute without messing with it, mine was not syncing but reboot fixed it (Oneplus 6 here)

Is there a reason why the Fitbit company will not fix the issue? I paid good hard earned money to get this Fitbit. All this is a temporary fix. A bandaid so to speak. All bandaid does is protect wound it does not heal the wound. This happens to me every 3 months and about to pitch this and go to another brand that does work . Please fix issue. Frustrated consumer

I have a iPhone. I have trled all the listed suggestions to connect my charge 3. Finally, I removed it from my blue tooth. Now my phone won't find my fit bit. I followed those directions and haven't had any luck. It worked fine for the first 2 weeks. Now What? It does sync with my iPad.

did you reboot the fitbit and the phone? BT is notorious for pairing, I have a $200 Sony BT headset that's a real BEAR to pair, so fiddle with it a bit, it'll work. If not, send it back. I was going to return mine, but after some fiddling it works again. Not defending fitbit at all (the product is dicey at best) but SOME issues are not directly their fault. GOOD LUCK!

My charge 3 worked fine for over a year and now past month has been a total pain in the backside. Doesnt sync, shows wrong time. Reset phone, many times. Reset charge 3, un-installed and re-installed app. Now I am just fed up with it. My old charge 2 is battered to hell and still works great. Charge 3 has no lastability I think.

Unfortunately, it is a pain in the stress the problematic sync.

Suddenly unable to sync again
Tried everything including rebooting, re-installing app, tried another device, etc but no luck
It would appear Charge 3 only good for a few months usage.
