Charge 3 not connecting with phone.

I have read all the comments, My Fitbit 3 keeps saying on my Apple phone Connection Unsuccessful, Make sure "Charge 3" is turned on and in range.  It was connected last night after I said forget this device and back to square one.  I'm over it! How many times can you reboot both phone and watch.  Not Happy 😞

Hello @Sooz13, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your partiicpation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Please note that your Charge 3 will not sync nor pair through the Bluetooth Settings on your phone, which is why you're getting the "Connection Unsuccessful" message. Tell me, are you having trouble syncing your Charge 3 or setting it up? Which other troubleshooting steps have you tried? Have you restarted your Charge 3 and your phone lately?

If you're having trouble syncing, I would like to suggest you the following:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

Now, if you're having trouble setting up your Charge 3:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal and that there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.
  3. Restart your Charge 3 again.
  4. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet and try to set up again.
  5. If you can't set up after the reboot, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet and try to set up the Charge 3 one more time.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let us know the outcome.

Did all the things and twice but as soon as I’m away from the phone it doesn’t reconnect. What should I do other than returning it as purchased before Xmas?

Mine has been doing the same!! It’s like what in the heck. I’ve reset my fit bit. I reset my phone multiple times!!

this process didnt work !!! such a waste of time, efforts and money !!! no more fitbit !!!!!

Agreed. Charge3 not syncing with bluetooth. Been through all the steps several times. Extremely frustrating. Returning device. Not good enough! My Charge2 works and connects without issue

Yup.  The charge 3 is garbage.  The form factor is great, but it's totally unreliable.  Since the charge 2 gives me carpal tunnel symptoms and the font size on the versa can't be increased, I'm done with fitbit.  Their dashboard is nice, but really, truly not worth the headache.

I am still having the same problem. Very upset!!! How do I fix this?

The same steps were dropped to me as an email. I tried them for almost thrice but of no use. Please tell me where i can return the fitbit. It is such a waste of time and efforts. Sooner you replace, better we feel.

I have tried everything, multiple times and still not working. Now my phone can’t even find my device. This is unacceptable

I am on my 3rd Charge 3 since Christmas (11 months) having had known problems with the previous 2.  Now this one, which I've had for 3 months, has stopped syncing and is loosing time hours at a time.  I've done all the rebooting and resets, removing the blue tooth etc. etc. Nothing is working, I've tried on my Samsung phone and my windows laptop.  I've even deleted the charge 3 from the fitbit app - now nothing will find the charge 3 so I can't re-set up my charge 3. All updates, app and software  on phone and computer, are up to date and, looking at the forum this is yet another known problem!

Looks like it'll be customer services AGAIN - when are Fitbit going to sort out the problems with the Charge 3, surely by now it should have been withdrawn from sale until they sort out the issues.

Then what? I have followed all of these step multiple times with no luck.

Don't ask me. Customer services seem to be suggesting the bluetooth issues are the fault of my devices (plural)! Even though the problem is on my Samsung phone, and my Samsung tablet and my windows computer. I'm completely fed up. Fitbit, just accept that the charge 3 is not fit for purpose.Sent from Samsung tablet.

Hi , tried all options since last three days still the device is not synching . It’s been more than 15 days and not connecting . Please advice , just finished one year warranty too.

Fully Power down the phone by swiping the Power Down button right, wait a minute, and power it back up has worked multiple times for me.  Different phones have different methods to power it down.

This suggested fix DOES NOT WORK! Period! Why does fitbit continue to recommend methods that do not work? This is completely unacceptable!

My C3 has served me well with only occasional Bluetooth connection losses, until yesterday. Now after repeated iPhone 6s, app and C3 restarts it still does not connect completely. I will be happy to send screen captures of the results.

I am unable to pair my phone to my fitbit charge 3. I have done all the suggested reboot, remove app, switch off bluetooth and on, etc etc etc. Still cannot pair. Wasted so much time today. What else do you suggest. I was so looking forward to getting started with this but beginning to wish i had not got one.
