Charge not syncing with my iPhone 5

I just bought a new Charge and it does not sync with my iPhone 5a at all. It is on the newest version, but my phone seems to think it's on version 35. When I tried to download the updates, it's stuck on the loading screen. This is my second Fitbit today that I have got that dosen't work.

Just to make sure I'd like to know if you're unable to update the Fitbit App or the firmware on your Charge tracker? Also, I'd suggest you restart your phone and tracker by following the steps provided at How do I restart my tracker? and then please make sure you follow these exact steps.
