Hi @Rachelb221
Moved this thread from the Alta to the iOS App section since more relevant to the topic & increase the chance of getting a solution.

Hello there @Rachelb221, welcome aboard to our Community. I've noticed your post has not received any suggestion so despite I'm quite sure you already sorted out, I just want to make follow with you to see if everything is working fine.
Adding friends can be done in different ways, by tapping the Friends button at the bottom of the app, then tapping the "+" button in the top-right of the screen, or using your Facebook account as integration.
However The first time you launch this page, your device will prompt you for permission to access your address book. If you select "OK," your contacts with e-mail addresses will be imported into the friend finder screen. If you choose "Don't Allow," the Fitbit App will not use your iOS contacts for any function. If you decide later that you want to add friends from your iOS contacts, go to your Settings app and tap Privacy > Contacts > Fitbit. Next, go back into the Fitbit app, tap Friends, then tap the "+" button in the top-right of the screen and your contacts will show.
This important to remember, your contacts must have an email address associated with their name in order for them to show in the Fitbit app.
Let me know if you are experiencing issues with your account so far, I'll be around in case you need my help.
