Counting steps whilst not moving

Only purchased Fitbit charge 2 yesterday and it keeps counting steps whilst not moving. Last night I did over 60 steps whilst sat down and so far this morning, I've done 10 steps whilst laying in bed and holding my phone! Please help as not liking this and think I may have wasted money.

Hello @NorthFace, and welcome!, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

This seems like an odd situation, if you're arms are not moving, the Fitbit tracker should not count steps. In this particular situation I would like to suggest restarting your trackerAfter restarting your tracker, let's try to perform an accuracy test:

1. Put your tracker on your wrist and count how many steps you have so far
2. Walk 100 steps, making sure to count a step each time one of your feet hits the ground.
3. Pause, then check your tracker to see your step count.

If your tracker counted less than 100 steps or more than 100, my best recommendation would be contacting our Support Team. Let them know about the test you've performed, I'm sure they will be more than happy to get you back on track. Smiley Wink

Give it a try and keep me posted!
