@LizzyFitbit

Please provide us with an update about this issue. For me, having a higher than average maxHR my fitbit does not have a slight bug but it's completely useless. I don't want to change my maxHR every bloody single day again on the website. This is beyond ridiculous.

I’m so sick of this not working. I’ve had a problem with it for most of the summer and it’s still not working. It’s useless for me to use the Fitbit to track my achievements because it gives a wrong picture of my fitness condition. The Fitbit tells me that all of my workout sessions are like 90 % in peak zone and that is just not possible. This results in the app calculating my progress as really bad and That’s so frustrating when the whole reason I bought it was to track my progress. Please give us an update on this problem

Everyone -

Stay on top of the Max HR override. The FitBit servers/app reset mine to the traditional value both yesterday and today and a total of 10 times in approximately 45 days.

Also had this issue - started with the FitBit update in June - tried to troubleshoot it myself by reinstalling the app and rebooting the Charge 3 to no avail.  Logged a support ticket (#37898025), but have not been able to get this resolved - it's definitely a bug in their FitBit app, but they keep trying to have me update the tracker or my iphone IOS.  I tried to work around of setting it up in the web portal, which seems to have worked for now, but I will check it regularly to make sure it isn't reset as other have reported in this thread.

Thanks! I tried the web portal workaround, but it's a "doesn't work around" for me.

You'd think they'd fix this bug by now--particularly since it was apparently working fine before an update. Poor quality control and testing.

Well, here it is November and my Versa still set the custom heart rate to zero. Is this ever going to be fixed?

I just started a new thread because fitbit doesn't seem to look here anymore. I just went on a 30 minute run, which was nearly 30 minutes in peak zone because my custom settings vanished again.

Fitbit do not appear to be interested unfortunately. I messaged them on Twitter and they told me the usual uninstall the app or try desktop site. I replied and asked if they would be fixing the app and they didn’t reply. Says it all really! I’ll be moving onto polar for my next watch I think!

I have had this problem for months with an iphone 8 and now 12. A guy at Fitbit told me to delete app and reinstall. That didn’t work. I fix my custom HR a few times a week on the website. Super annoying!

I used the desktop site to fix it and that worked fine, that was good enough to me and now when I go into the HR Zones on the device it shows the custom one I set No issues.

Remember to stay on top of it by checking the app - I'd recommend at least every other day - the Custom Max HR you set on the Web interface appears to be reset back to the traditional value regularly. In my case, over a dozen times since September 3rd.

Ugh, I phoned to Fitbit the other day to complain about this. The agent on the phone told me that I've set up my profile incorrectly if I don't get a fitting standard HR. And that Fitbit would not have implemented the system they use if they didn't do any proper research and know that the standard settings are good for everyone. For which the profile settings need to be correct and depend on: Age, weight, size, level of fitness. Right. So basically this muppet told me that the maxHR is not dependent on genetics and age, but on weight, size and level of fitness. If this is the knowledge fitbit uses to implement this then all I can do is 😭 Time to move on. There are other companies who actually do know their science.
