Difference in tracker vs dashboard calorie counting

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My calorie "gauge" is different on my phone vs. on the desktop dashboard. On my phone, no matter how much I've eaten, it continually says "Under budget" - until I've eaten my calorie alotment for the day.

However, on the desktop version, it works as I presume it's supposed to - adjusting throughout the day to help me eat a steadily instead of starving or gorging myself.

For instance, right now, even though both show the EXACT same number of calories eaten vs. calories burned, my phone says "under budget" while my desktop shows "over budget." What is happening here?!?

My phone is what helps keep me on track while I'm out and about. What gives?!

ey!!!!! I'm having the same problem here!!!! mmmm..... this is really frustrating....

Me too - same issue.  The app on my phone says "in the zone" and the dashboard online says "Over".

Why are these two different? Shouldn't they say exactly the same thing?

Everything else is exactly the same between the two.

Any word or assistance on this issue from FitBit?

Hello there! Smiley Very Happy

I'm sorry about the caloric discrepancy you see between your Dashboard and your Fitbit app.

I would recommend rebooting. I would also recommend making sure you're using the same email address on both platforms and that your Fitbit device is constantly syncing.  If that doesn't work then please try to uninstall and re install the app.

I hope this works for you and good luck!

HI Vivis:  Yes, I did uninstall and reinstall the app before I submitted my post.  Still the same issue.

I also have the same email on both and sync several times a day with the app and refresh the dashboard.

The numbers are all exactly the same, just the dial shows different things.  Hope this gets fixed soon as I'm not sure which is more accurate. I've been using the App as my main guide for calories.

Has anyone else noticed that your "in the zone" or "over/under budget" do not always match when comparing the computer program to the phone app???

I was just looking at that this morning and noticed the same thing. My phone app says I am "over budget" for yesterday and the computer dashboard says I am "under budget" but the calorie numbers (both in and out) match. So why doesn't the readout for under/in/over budget? I am having trouble understanding how it decides if I am within my "budget" for calories or not. The "calories left" on the app change constantly - I assume as I burn more calories through the day - but how much do I really need to eat? (so I can plan my meals).

Hi there,

Actually, my FitBit broke. [☹] I haven't been able to wear it for a few months now. I'm hoping that Santa brings me the new Charge HR 2 for Christmas!

Sorry, can't respond with more details at this time.

Thanks for asking.

Hi!

I'm going to show you the two dashboards and how they don't line up. It looks like the reason is that the app uses my daily calorie goal to show what zone I'm in, but the desktop is using 2,000 calories. I've tried manually setting a goal, instead of using the quiz and that doesn't work either. Is there anything else I can do?app dashboard.pngIMG_1738.PNGdesktop dash.png

It's been awhile since this topic has been addressed - but it's happening to me as well.

Web meter version shows I'm low - Phone app version say's I'm over.

I have screen shots of this but the Insert Image function doesn't seem to be working.

Has there been any update on this?
