Fitbit Update 9/19/16

This issue where users experience a red "(not synced)" error next to their exercise logs on the iOS App has been resolved with the release of iOS App version 2.27. Click here to update your App if you haven't already.

Thanks you for everybody's patience while we worked this one out!

Fitbit Update 5/23

There is currently a bug where some iOS users see a red "(not synced)" error next to some of their exercise logs. Our team is aware and currently working on fixing this bug. Apologies for any inconvenience that this creates.

Please do not uninstall/reinstall the Fitbit App, uninstalling/reinstalling the Fitbit App could cause data loss.  If possible, I would also recommend logging activities on Fitbit.com until a fix is available.

I don't understand why this is happening now. For 15 months I've had no problems with syncing my tracked activities, but all of a sudden it won't do it? What happened? I'm completely frustrated and ready to chuck my Charge HR for something more dependable and accurate. Let's get this fixed already!

Hello, this has happened to me twice already in the past two weeks.  The first time it happened i just tried to tap the error message to try to sync it and it work.  However, the error I got from yesterday is still not able to syc it properly.  Appreciate if we can have an update on this.

Thanks!

Hi everyone -- I just wanted to update everyone and let you know that we haven't forgotten about this issue. Our team is still investigating this and looking into the root cause of why this is happening to get a fix rolled out as soon as they can. I know this can be frustrating but just wanted to keep you all in the loop and make sure that you know your reports are being heard and seen.

As my guy @DerrickS pointed out here, please do not uninstall/reinstall the Fitbit App as doing so could cause data loss.  If possible, I'd recommend logging activities on Fitbit.com until a fix is available. More updates to come here. Thanks for your continued patience.

I have now just about given up with Fitbit!

For the last week the app has failed to sync yet anothre 13 mile walk and because I have tried and tried for some reason I have now also been unable to get bluetooth to work with it. I am about to go and chuck this product in the bin! Please can soemone confirm what fix is planned foir this 'not syncing' problem which only occurs with long walks or runs. Is it that Fitbit servers are not up to the job?

I have been having this issue for the past several days, but I was eventually able to get it to sync after many attempts and restarting my tracker and phone. Today, my 6 mile walk would not sync no matter what I did or how many times I attempted to sync. After attempting to log my exercise at Fitbit.com as @ErickFitbit suggested, my step count and calories burned went crazy. It spontaneously increased by steps for the day by at least 1000 steps before my eyes, and my calories burned dropped by about 400. I thought it might be the un-synced walk that was still there, potentially messing with my stats, so I deleted it. It made no difference. I then decided to delete the exercise log I had just created for my walk, and re-enter it with calories burned, which I had omitted the first time, thinking that this would replace it with hopefully more accurate information. Upon saving this new log, my step count increased by another 1000 or so steps! Somehow I walked 2000 steps in the span of two minutes while sitting in a chair. This is getting extremely frustrating and especially considering this has been a known problem for MONTHS and nothing close to a solution has been suggested. I'm beginning to wonder why I spend so much money on a Fitbit when it's so hilariously inaccurate and unreliable.

I guess people are not reading the e-mails from the moderators which gave us an update today AND instructions (which they have given in the past and which work)  Whatever doesn't sync on your phone, go to your FitBit dashboard ON A PC ON A THE WEB @ fitbit.com and manually enter the activity.

Click on Log, Activities tab and WAY down at the bottom right you can manually log your exercises, runs, whatever and it syncs up to the phone.

I do not know what they did back in March that broke the feature.

This workaround doesn't address the loss of gps-tracked walk/run data, give km splits, any of the sort of things people are rightfully upset aren't reliably working and haven't done for most of 2016

I have a run that when I open the app it says it's not synced. I've tried all the steps to troubleshoot it but it won't sync. I would really like to save it. Any help?

I never got any help trying to sync my walks that where over 7miles. I had 7 different walks that would not saying when I log out of my account I lost those seven walks.

I think it is the timer some how in the activity tracking in the app. Yesterday I ran 6.6 miles and was 59 minutes 55 seconds. I had no problem syncing afterwards. This morning I ran the exact same distance but it took me 60 minutes and 25 seconds. It did not sync.

It may be time related but my walks up to one and quarter hours sync ok. It's the ones about 3 hours that don't. Surprised that FitBit support haven't tried this themselves. They must be wearing them?

Any update as to when this might be resolved? Ongoing issue.

Hi, I know you're working on this but I ran a marathon yesterday and really want to know my splits, which I don't have because it won't sync and keeps saying "loading activity stats". Is this bug fix going to come out with the next update? In the past it took only an hour for my long runs (~16 mi+) to sync but it's been over 24 hours and it hasn't synced with any number of shutting down / restarting the apps / resyncing efforts...thanks!

I had a bike ride the 20th of July an logged it as a hike. It eventually synced. Yesterday I had the same bike ride, but logged it with run. Now it isn't syncing at all. I use the data to sync with strata, so hopefully this issue will be fixed soon. At the same time I have a automatic outdoor bike activity overlapping. Is this is a mismatch between record and automatically logged data? Maybe outdoor bike should be a recording option?

Do you have a timeframe when it will be fixed? It's useless otherwise

If we manually log the exercises we will loose the gps tracking and for some of us is really important

Do something!

Hi everyone, So far our team is still working hard on this, unfortunately at the moment we don't have any recent updates. For additional information refer to ErickFitbit's post. Here you'll find more details about this issue as a workaround as well to log your activities. Usually these type of issues are addressed in future version of the Fitbit app so make sure you are running the latest version.

Stay tune for any news and as soon I know something I will let you know.
