Fitbit Update 9/19/16

This issue where users experience a red "(not synced)" error next to their exercise logs on the iOS App has been resolved with the release of iOS App version 2.27. Click here to update your App if you haven't already.

Fitbit Update 5/23

There is currently a bug where some iOS users see a red "(not synced)" error next to some of their exercise logs. Our team is aware and currently working on fixing this bug. Apologies for any inconvenience that this creates.

Please do not uninstall/reinstall the Fitbit App, uninstalling/reinstalling the Fitbit App could cause data loss.  If possible, I would also recommend logging activities on Fitbit.com until a fix is available.

HI,

 

Still waiting (over 3 months) for a fix to not being able manually add any activities to the IOS app and have it successfully sync to fitbit.com. Is there any word on when this will be corrected?

I have been having the same problem the last 2 weeks. Can't get all of my mileage recorded and walks are not synced so can't see my splits

Fit bit is not doing anything to fix. I noticed 3 weeks ago fit bot representatives would comment and discuss how they are fixing, now they say nothing. Your watch is now a fancy step counter that can't give splits or show you gps. Get used to it.

They used to work great until they started added extra functions to the app, stuff that we are not bothered about, things to make the app look good etc

They are supposed to test the updates before releasing it, makes you wonder if they are testing the update prior to releasing it to the public, how long it is being tested etc

If I wanted a pedometer, my iPhone works just fine, I got the Fitbit for the challenges etc, by not being able to join challenges, the Fitbit is just a waste of money

I just feel sorry for those that pay for the extra and then go through the troubles of not being to use it when they break it

What I do not understand is what are they updating, adding etc to every so often break/cause the 5 challenge error, because after that error, I do not see any changes

Could you imagine if this was a bank or mobile company and they said oh sorry but we are working on fixing it but until then you can not make calls, login to your bank account etc?

I agree. I liked the previous version. The new version is harder to navigate and the badges have disappeared

Hey fitbit - I've been following this topic since late May, when my long hikes started to "not synced".  Shorter ones (around 1 hour) continue to sync, but not the 3-5 hour ones.

 

During the long hikes, the fitbit auto-logs walks, but they won't sync with the Track Exercise option on the iPhone App.

 

When can we expect this to get fixed?

Has any progress been made on this bug?  I am having the same problem lately with it saying my exercise is not synced.  It happens with both tracking and logging feature.

The work around to log exercise is use Safari on your iPhone, go to Fitbit.com and log the exercise there. Until they issue a new update from the App Store and it is pushed to your Phone. The Fitbit app simply is not going to apply your manual updates for things like Wieght Lifting. The Charge HR is not sophisticated enough to recognize that kind of activity so you must enter it manually. Trying to use the App until they fix this problem is just a waste of time and will generate more frustration with Fitbit. I have to agree with other posters, being in the Software Business myself, I don't see how any of their Developers still have their job after this huge screw up. But worse yet is the fact that they know this is a problem that renders their device useless and they DO NOT FIX IT. In trying to get an update from Fitbit on an ETA for fix, I got no response. I posted this problem on Consumer Affairs dot com but they have not bothered to respond to that posting either. Wonder how sales are going since the rest of the World knows their Software doesn't work?

This is not correct (not the issue). The Fitbit used to synch a exercise which could be categorized later on the app with a synched GPS function. Since the new update we lost the ability to categorize the GPS function to anything other than a RUN. It is extremely frustrating that the company can not wrap their arms around a pretty easy software patch.

many companies use ads to help support their system, maybe FitBit should do the same

 

ads, increase prices and/or go under....

It's a shame because I historically recommended the Fitbit to all my friends because of their good software and customer service.

Maybe it is just some countries or areas? Working fine here in the UK, syncing no probs, touch wood

If FitBit do go under, then all I can say I can not thank you enough for getting me to start exercising again

Like I said, with the amount of users and attention, advertisement support system to help keep the company going would be something I am sure all of us will be willing to put up with and would be worth looking into

To Wytey, you say yours works. Are you using GPS tracked walks/runs facility. If so what length of walk are you syncing?

I just keep trying and eventually mine all sync. Hikes of 7-10km. I think it is a server capacity issue. Today only took 2 tries. Yesterday at lease 25.
