Exercise types don't appear in search results

For the last two weeks or so I’ve been having this issue: When I want to manually log an activity, I can choose from the list of previously logged exercises. But when I want to select another activity from the list, the whole list is empty. No matter what I search for, there is no result, both on the app and the online dashboard. The same goes for changing an already logged activity. Let's say I want to change 'workout' to 'aerobics'. I do not get any results. I have alreadyntried setting the language form Dutch to Dutch (english) and that helps for a little time but then it automatically goed back to Dutch. I have a fitbit charge 3, and iOS 13.1.2.

Any ideas? Thank in advance!

I’m having the same issue. Glad I’m not the only one. Went to log my cycling class and there’s only Fitbit coaching options.

Thank you. I was able to add the activity this morning. The library of activities displayed correctly. It seems that the issue has been resolved.

Hi everyone. Thanks for continue participating in this thread, and I'm sorry for my delayed response.

I appreciate the information that you've shared, as well the steps tried on your own. It's great that some of you were able to log your exercises. However, since this is still being experienced by other members I've escalated your details to our team so they can further investigate and bring a solution. Currently I don't have a time frame, but I'll update this thread once I have more details. In the meantime, make sure to keep the Fitbit app updated.

@SunsetRunner, I appreciate your big help on this!

I'll be around if you have any other question.

Same problem here. IPhone 8 with iOS 13.1.3 (updated just now, it didn’t work with 13.1.2 either). I also live in Sweden...:)

I had(have) the same problem as the other people in this thread. For me, I got it to work on the online dashboard when I tried the tip in this thread to change language to something else at the bottom of the dashboard and then change back, now it works!!

for the app issue:

- am in Sweden (seems to be a country-specific problem)

- iOS 13.1.3

- fitbit app 3.12.1

- I have had this issue since the start, I didn’t even know since I got the fitbit that I could choose different exercise types, I have just been customizing my own along the way, haha.

hope this helps figuring out the issue!

I just realised that this problem is still there in the app and on the web. Every time I log on to the dashboard on the web I have to change from Sverige (svenska) to Sverige (English) to get the search to work. The interface is actually in English regardless of the setting.

Interesting. I didn’t realize that the problem was still out there. It got resolved on my end just a few days after I reported it. I am not surprised though, I still haven’t heard from a problem that I reported months ago.

I tried all the steps, but the problem occurs in both the iPhone app as in the webbrowser.
I have the location set to Amsterdam but do not know how to fix this...

I have this issue now, and for me it worked to change the location in the app from Sweden to UK. When I had it on Sweden no searches appeared, but on UK it seems to work fine. Thanks for the suggestion!

Worked for me too! Changed the Location in the iOS app from Netherlands to UK, logged out of and back into iOS app. And now searching activity types works again! 👍

I had the same issue since 3 days after updating the Fitbit app. Had an empty list when searching an activity for manual input.

Solved it by turning on "Automatic location" in the App settings. Before that "Select location" was set on Nederland (Engels)

Hope it helps fellow users with same issue.

By the way I have a Charge 4 on firmware 1.100.34. Fitbit Android app version 3.40.1

I’m having a few issues with the versa 3. Firstly there is no “exercise shortcuts” option on my dashboard, both on the device and via online. Secondly the only way to edit Interval workouts timings is via online, however it does not sync it correctly to my device. And the timings then are completely random

2021. Still a problem. Started for me this summer. Probably with an update. Your small-fixes and advices to restart, change language or location, update - nothing works. Not for the desktop version and not for the app version. It's obviously a bigger problem on Fitbits side that you have to find and fix.
