Exercise types don't appear in search results

For the last two weeks or so I’ve been having this issue: When I want to manually log an activity, I can choose from the list of previously logged exercises. But when I want to select another activity from the list, the whole list is empty. No matter what I search for, there is no result, both on the app and the online dashboard. The same goes for changing an already logged activity. Let's say I want to change 'workout' to 'aerobics'. I do not get any results. I have alreadyntried setting the language form Dutch to Dutch (english) and that helps for a little time but then it automatically goed back to Dutch. I have a fitbit charge 3, and iOS 13.1.2.

Any ideas? Thank in advance!

Hi!

Having the same problem here. Bought my Fitbit yesterday and was excited to register my bike ride this morning (which I though was going to be registered automatically, but apparently not) and can’t find bicycle as an exercise alternative 😞

Log it as Bike. There is also Mountain Bike.
It’s unfortunate that it didn’t log automatically.

I've had my Fitbit for a year now and it's still not possible to manually log activities since the activity search won't display any search results… Pretty amazing that this still won't work.

That is amazing, and mid boggling that it works for some users and not for others. In my case, it has been working again for quite some time. But I think this highlights a clear general problem with Fitbit: they are more focused on selling devices than they are in providing good and reliable service through their app.

I think the problem is the language settings. By default the app and website chooses “Swedish” for me (since I’m in Sweden). Then I can’t search. If I switch to “Sweden (English)” in the settings (on the website) the search works fine.

Fitbit apparently does not handle different languages very well.

I'm having the same problem and it does seem that activity type search only works in English. By default, my automatic location is Canada (français), in which no activity type shows up when searching. I deactivated the automatic location, chose Canada instead of Canada (français), force quit the app and then the search worked. I searched for "Tennis" both times, which translates identically between French and English. Fitbit 3.51 (1080) running on iOS 15.1. Screen captures available here: https://imgur.com/a/rgfwrZ3.

Pretty incredible that this bug is more than two years old, that many users have identified its cause and that it is not yet fixed.

Yeah. It appears that Fitbit abandoned improving its app a long time ago. It’s a shame.
