I can’t synch with my phone, nor change the date or time
as such my Blaze is almost worthless for anything other than seeing who is calling on my phone!

I appreciate you have reported this to my. Please note that your Fitbit Blaze will reflect the correct time once it has been synced with the app. Have you restarted your phone and your Blaze by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you sease the Fitbit logo on the screen already? If so, I would like to suggest you to try the following:
