Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the App store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/22

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

Too late already got the new dashboard and not having any problems with it

Best Answer

It's too bad when "not having any problems with it" seems to be the most positive thing anyone has to say about it.

Best Answer

@Jgrffnyc actually these changes where made in response to users requests found in the Feature Suggestion Board.

Let's go back a couple of years and we will notice that according to posts. The dashboard people want back is the worst thing about Fitbit and 6 months from now people will wonder how they put up with yesterday's dashboard version.

Best Answer

I totally agree the new dashboard is not pleasing at all. They old dashboard was visually more appealing and user friendly. I am not happy with the change, please change it back.

On the main "today" tab of the dashboard, select your profile image at the top left of the screen, then select your fitbit. You will then be on the device settings where you'll find the alarms

@SteveH  thank you! I really like to be waking up by my watch. But I'm disappointed that it's hidden like that...

Hi @Dimocash@CupcakeOfGir@jasmineinbloom5@Kasane@coreyrh0413@Pvelotas, @SunsetRunner, @Bewarethewriter@Steve9984@LjubisaP@EmmaE73@Annlyz@Jo1987@jamgood96 and @simondss1, welcome on board. @Lsweet@greghei1@Jgrffnyc and @SunsetRunner, it's nice to see you again. I'm sorry for my delayed response.

@SteveH and @Rich_Laue, thanks for stopping by to help our members. You're great!

@CupcakeOfGir@jasmineinbloom5@Lsweet@Bewarethewriter@greghei1@Steve9984,@Jgrffnyc@jamgood96 and @simondss1, your comments and feedback are truly appreciated. I'm sorry for the difficulties with the new dashboard and its features. Our team takes every comment very seriously and while we bring this new dashboard based on the feedback that we've been receiving in the past, our team will receive the comments posted in this thread to continue working on our services.

@Dimocash, thanks for your question. You'll need to tap on the tile to see your calories intake and the ones left for the day.

@Kasane, thanks for sharing your feedback towards the new dashboard. Let me explain that your sleep data will be recorded automatically by your device and not the Fitbit app, unless you're using the "Begin Sleep Now". For this reason, it's expected to see interruptions in your sleep if you stay awake, as your device will think that your sleep activity ended. You can always edit the start/end time of your sleep in the Fitbit app by following the steps from this help article.

@coreyrh0413, thanks for bringing this to my attention. While the new dashboard changed, you should be able to create your food or choose from the custom ones. Try opening the Fitbit app > tap on the "+" icon next to the food log. If you tap on custom, you should see your recipes, as well the option to add a custom food. If that's not displayed, please provide me with a screenshot to further investigate. For instructions to add an image in your reply, check this post.

@Pvelotas, as mentioned before, this new dashboard is progressively rolling out to our users. Thanks for your interest and be sure that you'll receive it.

@SunsetRunner, thanks for sharing your thoughts about the new dashboard. I see where are you coming from, and I'm sorry for that inconvenience. About the red dot in the notifications tab, our team is already aware and they'll work on that. Currently, I don't have details when it'll be resolved, but we'll continue to monitor the situation and, keep our team informed of the impact to you and other users.

@LjubisaP, thanks for joining the conversation, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience experienced with the Fitbit app. Thanks for the steps that you've tried, and I'll help you with this. This sounds strange and just in case you've not done so, please try logging out from the Fitbit app, force quitting the Fitbit app and rebooting your phone. If the same keeps happening, feel free to let me know.

@EmmaE73, I appreciate your comments, and let me help you with your inquiries. In the Fitbit app you have the option to rearrange the tiles to see the ones that are more important for you. To do that, please try the following steps:

  1. Open the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > Edit.
  2. Tap and hold the icon with three lines next to the tile you want to move, and drag it to a new position.
  3. Tap "Save" and the changes will be saved.

@Annlyz, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, and I'm glad that you were able to set an alarm. I see your point of view about the new dashboard, and we'll work on every function to improve it.

@Jo1987, thanks for bringing this to my attention, as well for the troubleshooting steps that you've tried. Nice job! Before anything else, I'd recommend to try logging out from your account, force quitting the Fitbit app, rebooting your phone, opening the Fitbit app and logging in to your account. If the issue persists, let me know.

@SunsetRunner, I'm glad to hear that everything is working. I'd recommend to check this help article, for more information about the new tiles and how to navigate through the new dashboard.

See you around.

@LizzyFitbit Thanks very much for your message and the @, but you didn't respond to my question.

Why is the new design *better* and not just different?  What is the new and useful functionality that comes from the new design that makes it worth completely changing an interface that I've used on a daily basis for multiple years now?

Can I just continue to decline changing the app and leave it the way it has been and I like it?

Designers forget that when they change long-standing interfaces to technology, it often causes people who had been lulled into staying with a platform to suddenly wake up and decide to try a completely new platform, since things are changing anyway...

Loyal lover of Fitbit for years now, and am flabbergasted that the silent alarms aren’t front and center of this new app design. I don't know why they disappeared. They’re the #1 thing I use Fitbit for (so you don’t have to wake your partner in the morning). Please bring back ASAP!

Downloaded the new dashboard yesterday and already hate it. Really wish I hadn’t but didn’t know what I was letting myself into. Before I could see all the stats I wanted at a glance. Now I am forever scrolling. Very cumbersome. I used to love my Fitbit and spoke highly of it and the customer service, but with my premium account not working and now this, I am seriously considering moving over to the dark side. Garmin is looking very attractive right now.

Best Answer

I too feel like I’m being nudged over to Garmin. Something as cumbersome to use as this new app is not what I would have expected from Fitbit.

Every time I join a new challenge it pushes my stats further down the page. Pleeeeease give us the old dashboard back! Everything was there at a glance and easy to use!

Best Answer
You can move the challenges to the bottom

With the new dashboard, everything I click on opens up the app for my scale. I want to see what my sleep pattern was, opens up the scale. Why?  How do I stop this?  As of now the app is basically useless to me.

Best Answer

I have reported identical problem yesterday...

answer is still pending (beside first advises they proposed that are not solving the issue - logout, restart etc)

not it glad for you but at least some more complains for same topic give me a hope that they will pay attention to it.

Newest glitch in the list. I have my clock face set to retro as the most important thing I want to see at a glance is time and steps. Well I must say, it does keep the time on the face, good job!!  Now it doesn’t seem to keep the steps. Sometimes it is time and calories, sometimes it is time and resting heart rate, or time and distance. I must go to the app, set it to another face then switch back to set it to retro, where it will hold that for about 30-60 seconds then switch to something else.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can’t I have my old version back!!!!!!!!!

This new version is really no fun and only an exercise in frustration!!!!

Hi Lizzy,

just to come back with info that I have tried suggested but no solution yet.

Looking forward to idea how to overcome the problems.

My family has three different Fitbit‘s and a scale. I will leave Fitbit if they do not turn back to the previous version.

Best Answer

Same. Two Fitbit Blaze, the older models we had before, and a scale. If this shambles is not turned around swiftly we will be ditching the lot and going elsewhere... When I accepted this update I thought it was just that, an ordinary update. I did not for one minute think Fitbit would use me as a pawn to beta test some unthinkable & failed experiment...

The new dashboard is awful! I can’t join or get a sneak peak of challenges, it shows challenges that were completed last week Tuesday, extra steps to view anything and most of the time it doesn’t work - I clicked to view sleep data and it kept taking me to my activity minutes. Not happy ☹️
